It probably says this somewhere but we couldn't find it.
If I have a battleship with two primary turrets do they pool their AD if firing at the same thing, or do the turrets fire individually.
Thank you

(I'm a little rusty on the rules, haven't played since august, so perhaps someone can correct anything I get wrong), but:
Depends a little on line of sight and fire arcs, you could:
Fire both primary turrets at the same target separately, resolving each as a different attack, which would net you full AD with both turrets.
OR you could link fire with both turrets, which would be 1 attack, with FULL AD from 1 turret and HALF AD from the 2nd.
It's swings and roundabouts as to which is best, if you're firing at a big target it may be better to link fire, as you have less dice overall, but more chance of doing damage (it's easier to get 3 hits on 7 dice, than trying to get 3 hits on 5 dice, then 3 hits on 5 dice). When going after smaller targets, you will want to resolve each gun independantly as you are more likely to destroy the target in one hit (get 1 hit on 5 dice, then you haven't wasted 5 dice that can target another ship).

Pretty much what leigen said, theres a few exceptions to the rule but this is it for the most part (and most of the exceptions revolve around faction specific weapons anyway)

Also, it's implied by what was posted, but it can't hurt to spell it out for any other new players who may look at this-
In order for weapons to link their fire, they must be of the same type (rockets with rockets, torps with torps, bombs with bombs, primary turrets with primary turrets, secondary turrets with secondary turrets, teslas with teslas, etc). You can link fire with as many weapons of the same type as you want for models firing within the same squadron, and if you do so, you choose 1 attack to be at full AD, and all other attacks (after figuring out their AD pool normally for range band, obscured target or not, any crit effects on the model, etc) contribute half AD to the attack. Any defensive modifications to the dice pool (rugged construction, etc) generally take place after determining the final, linked dice pool, though the MAR will spell it out anyway.
The opposite of linked fire is split fire- where you take 1 gun, and fire it at multiple targets. In practice, this is only useful for the largest of guns, and the closest of targets, as (and this is why I mention this at all) you can't split fire and link fire with the same attack. So, if you have 3 turrets with 12 AD each, and 2 targets you want to hit, you can: Link 2 at 1 of them (18 AD), fire normally at the other (12 AD), fire normally at both (12 AD) and split fire the 3rd turret (6 AD to each ship), but you could NOT link fire the 3rd turret to the other 2, and split its AD amongst both targets (trying to get 15 AD to each by doing so). If a turret is doing split fire, it can't link fire with any attacks. Hopefully that makes sense.

Not strictly, if i recall secondary gunnery works slightly differently. Provided they line up (rarely) for instance the EotBS frigate CAN make four 7AD attacks by linking the individual turrets and broadsides (those can't link further so its rarely worth it unless small hunting with them). Or at least last i checked, dont think they've erated it out anyway.

Right, absolutely, because both the "main" turret and the broadside are considered secondary turrets. Though you saying this makes me want to double check that the FC broadsides aren't rockets (not home right now), but they can't be, because IIRC they have a S for secondary on them. Sorry if my post wasn't as clear as it could be, essentially you can link fire with whatever attacks you want within a squadron (so you could even have the main turret from one Uwatsu link with the broadside of another Uwatsu), as long as they are the same type of attack. You could do the same if broadsides and main turrets were both primaries, as firing arc doesn't matter. That just never happens on any model I'm aware of.

Actually i was more so pointing it out as you said, one of those things that should be known but isnt always obvious to knew players. I didnt clock onto it till after my first few games myself (and they are secondary btw heh only rocket broadsides around are on the gyros, but they still count as rocket attacks so only link with themselves)
