Surely, the Plague Father has truly scorned the living. His putrescent maw has wrought forth an abomination that will surely be the end of this world.
Upon the bad winds of plague and decay, it decimates the field of battle. The carnage and destruction it leaves in its wake is only surpassed by the maddening silence it leaves behind.
It's herald is a whisper, it's victim's deaths are unending, and even the dauntless are broken.
It's sickness spreads to flesh and cog alike. It's infectious winds bring soldiers and war machines to their knees in agony.
Yet, there is nothing. No cries of terror, no lamentations of dead, no wails of anguish.
Silence. Pure deafening silence is all that is left.
I pray that the Emperor's light shall have mercy upon our souls.
For this monstrosity knows nothing of the sort.
Though our fight is righteous, and valiant in effort, our lines are broken, and our soldiers are dwindling.
I leave this message as a warning to those foolish enough to seek out rescue, or vengeance, for our lives.
For, as you hear my prayers and fear, I know I will not last the night.
May my life be worthy of song, and given in the name of the Emperor.
Daccat's fight is lost, as well as it's sons.
May your world not share the same fate as ours.
- Colonel Gaius Toldor, Daccat 2nd Infantry Regiment
This thread is going to be a little progression for myself to build, flesh out, and eventually paint a Daemon Prince.
First of all, I am currently in the concept/start phase of the project. As in such, I would like to take the time to invite you to help me design and create this character!
This project has started, simply for the fact that I can not STAND the
GW model for a Nurgle Daemon prince. I've never been a fan of the "it's diseased... so it HAS to be fat and bloaty... right?" thing that sculptors always go for.
The concept for my latest
CSM army is a hint of Iron Warrior-esque metal morphing, with a LOT of Nurgle goodness.
That being said, I would love your guys' opinions/critiques/ideas on bringing this Daemon Prince to life (if you could call it that.)
Without further adieu, I give you the concepts for
Golgotha The Whisper
Harbinger of the Unending Death
Herald of the Bad Winds
Also, mind that these concepts are not finalized in their details (such as armor design or color) and that they will probably turn out alot better than the quick scribbles done on a smoke break in the cold.
The first concept piece is the torso.
I'd like to stay with the "Marine that exploded in Dark Apotheosis" torso, keeping the mangled power armor feel.
As the concept shows, I would like to make the armor slightly deformed as it has taken place of the flesh over the ribcage. The stomach section will be hollow and the only visible things will be an exposed exposed ribs coming from underneath the armor, and an exposed spinal cord running from the neck down to the pelvis.
The second concept is that for the right arm. I'd like to do a very LONG, but metal, power scythe type weapon. Much like Typhus would have (more polearm in appearance, though)
The index and middle fingers will be the long "unnatural" fingers from the daemon prince hand, as is, whereas the rest will be that of average length. To emphasize the mutation of his ascension.
The third concept is for the left arm, which is the abomination's power fist.
The mutation of machine and flesh is REALLY going to be accentuated with this arm, and will probably be based off of the arm of a Helbrute (gotta love the mouth hand, haha)
The final concept is that for the jet pack (in place of large wings)
I want to make a twin turbine jetpack system for it to appear mechanical in nature. The extra tanks with piping is to suggest putrid fluid that it will spew like a crop duster across the battlefield from the thruster ports of the pack (representing a creative form of vector strike)
The over all paint scheme will be different from the concepts, here. My army's color is a bit more cream/tan/offwhite, than the yellow-ish color you see here. But, all of the metal and armor will be painted up in a full weathered and rust-tastic fashion! So, use your imagination on putting the pieces in place.
These are the concepts I have so far!
I'd love to hear your ideas and critiques for what I have so far.
But, more importantly, I'm probably going to need help deciding what I shall do with the legs (get creative!)
Thank you for your time, and I can't wait to hear from you.
Your pal, Sinism
