Looking for a tutorial or advice on painting said hell blades, i would like something that gives the impression of glowing or being on fire, reddish orange type look to it.

Any help?

This guy tried out 2 styles of hellblade. The Red hot poker style might be of interest to you though.

Hi,
i used a simple wet method.
first a yellow base and after it dried put a lot water onto the bladed and draw streaks of orange in there. take a thick color then it doesn't run and keeps uneven. alternatively you also can do a direct wet in wet method. yellow basecoat. same yellow one time more and before dried apply streaks of orange or red.
with both methods try to stay in the middle of the blade with the darker color.
i dont have a nice picture of my minis, just from a game:

I like the hot poker idea myself, any tutorial on how to achieve that look?

The red hot poker style just looks like hes blended the colours.

Dark Red > Red > Orange > Yellow > White.

You could PM him and ask.

Death-Dealing Devastator

Hey zachwho, the hot poker blades linked above are mine. I use vallejo game color mostly and the colours used were grey primer (or white), scar red, orange fire, sun yellow and dead white. I used an airbrush and painted successively smaller layers on the blades with white only at the very tip.

If you don't have an airbrush the same effect can be acheived using a wet blending method but that's a technique i'm not familiar with.

Hope this helps you.
