I bought a Tau XV-8 Crisis Suit a while back as I needed a few bitz out of the box for another project. After sitting on my shelf for months I finally decided to paint it but don't like the standard configuration or colour scheme, so I modified it slightly using only bits from the kit.

I hope you like it, it took a while to paint, was a nice change from painting 'men' and I have actually learnt a lot about edge highlighting doing this model! Apologies as always for the poor camera skills.

Looks really lovely! beautiful shade of yellow and the chipping looks just right on the feet, not overboard and adds enough character!

Nice, but why would a tau veteran want to paint it "target located" yellow?

Edit; also, that load out is illegal.

That is sweet! I am a big fan of the yellow with the subtle damage. The base isn't too bad either.

I'm pretty sure my tall base would be ruled illegal too, but luckily I don't play Tau, so that wasn't a consideration, lol!

The title did not disappoint....that IS a clean yellow scheme. Yellow is such a tough color to paint, blend, highlight, and still have it come out looking good. Great work on the model, the base really compliments the crisis suit well, the paint just looks real smooth, it has a great finish

Beautiful model, but I would like to see more movement in the legs. Just seems a bit to bland to me. All and all great paint job.

I feel like there should be more color on the guns, otherwise looks good.

I feel like this is a beautiful scheme, with a lovely dynamic pose. I also feel that the effect is spoiled by the support structure. I know it would be a little more difficult, but it appears that you've already put some foliage on the base, and I feel like if you made some effort to hide the support rod from the eye, it could take this from 'nice piece' to 'masterpiece.'
