According to the special rules section for the SM Contemptor-Mortis Pattern Dreadnaught under helical targeting array in "Imperial Armour Aeronautica": "If the CMP remains stationary in the movement phase, it gains the Skyfire & Interceptor special rule for that turn." I assume "that turns" refers to both the player's turn and then the sequential opponent's turn. Am I right to assume that?

"turn" refers to game turn unless specified otherwise. So yes - yours and your opponents turn.

I thought turn was Player Turn unless specified otherwise. According to page 9 anyway.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

You're right, I had it backwards.

turn means player turn, so you do not have interceptor during your opponents turn.

That's dumb but hilarious.

I think you mean you always have it during your opponent's turn. You almost always remain stationary because you almost never have permission to move.

RAW you only get it in your turn. HIWPI, you get it until the start of your next turn.

The quote in the Op doesn't say "its movement phase" it says "the movement phase". In your opponent's turn, "the movement phase" would be his movement phase.

Of course, if the quote in the Op is wrong and it's actually supposed to be "its" then you're right and it never benefits in the opponent's turn.

This weird situation comes from a bit of lazyness from FW.

See if a vehicle has Skyfire, he can only use Snapfire to shoot land targets.

So lets say that your Dread becomes immobilzed, so you can't fire on ground targetwith your normal BS.

With Interceptor rule if you have Skyfire, you can still shoot with your normal BS on ground targets.

So yeah they could simply said that even if it had the Skyfire it could still use his BS to shoot at ground stuffs, but, they took the Long road to get short( or the other way around)...

Rigeld - it is only required to stay still in "the" movement phase - which must be either movement phase. It always has I & S in the opponents turn

Here's my real concern: I want to be able to shoot at my opponent's flyers as they enter the board on THEIR turn; Interceptor allows this; but as we have discussed, the language is odd.

OK, re-reading the rules (was at work earlier when I posted), as long as you are stationary in a movement phase, you get Skyfire and Interceptor for that turn, So as nos said, it will always have the Skyfire and Interceptor rules in your opponent's phase.

I'm not sure honestly, isn't it more like till the end of your turn?, so implying, that its only for your turn that it has those rules?

The rule is worded funny. It basically says that if in a player turn, the dreadnought does not move in the associated Movement phase it gets the special rule.
