What's a typical size board for 200pt games? I'm thinking of building a gaming board for Infinity.
Cheers

3x3 for Demo type games
4x4 for 150-300 pt games
6x4 for 2v2/3v3 300-900pts per side games
8x4 for 3x3+ games
Sorry that is in feet for all you non-us folk

I was going to say... in metres those would be huge boards. Sarissa would be my best buds then.

you are going to find that 99% of your games (tournament included) are on 4X4 boards (yes in ft).
The larger tables 6x4 and 8x4, should also be noted that deployment zones are typcially the short edges and not the long ones as in games of 40k.
You will see an increase in the capabilities of weapons like the sniper rifle on those types of tables

naw, we do long edges when playing multiple player games (which should be really the only time you use a bigger board). It allows for a larger deployment area for the vastly increased amount of models to spread out. 900 points of models deploying on a 4ft board edge is a template weapon wetdream lol.

Not all non-US people use the metric system only. In Australia, we use metric, imperial and bogan measurements!

The club i used to play at had tables that were 3' x 4' and i thought those were perfect for smaller (200pts < )games of Infinity. You still have 4' between deployment zones but you are not so spread out in your own delpoyment zone that you can't cover each other. On 4' x 4' boards i found that in smaller games it was easy for models to end up isolated or else they all bunch up in the same part of the board for protection. This was mainly playing mission roulette scenarios so defending against triangulate or trying to blockade/ stop an advance become more difficult on larger boards. It also means you don't have to make as much terrain as you would need for a 4' x 4' board!

Bogon measurements? Is that like measuring in Kangaroo or Boomerang lengths?

Although games of Infinity are meant (especially with the campaign book) to be played on 4'x4' tables, we normally play on 1200mmx1200mm tables (as you just can't get certain wood products in imperial lengths - just the closest Metric).
But we use inch measurements on it. Although I'd love an ENGLISH and metric version of the rules. I grew up with metric (introduced two years before I was born) but am also familiar with inches, feet, yards and miles.

I grew up in Switzerland - so metric was a way of life, but for some reason inches always felt more elegant for wargaming.

I barely knew of inches before I started wargaming. I had just heard of some foreign, illogical way to measure things and as such I was rather confused when I began playing 40k. Now though, Imperial measurement is the wargaming measurement for me and the only instance in life when I would use imperial.

I played epic in cm, and a few other games in cm and Infinity's native way is in cm.
I wonder why those English speaking areas that use metric are made to use this relic of the past with illogical and arbitrary measurement units, just because certain other english speaking areas use it and won't adapt.

Yeh we usually run on 4x4 as its the most conformable. Just make sure you use lots of terrain.

I started Infinity with the free ruleset online, in French, and it was all in metric. So when I switched to the English rulebook (which I bought about 2 weeks in), I felt like ranges had been shortened a bit.

Don't worry, some of the tables still have the numbers for metric, but have had the wording changed to "inches".
Movement table for various units, for example - lists bikes as 20-15 (whereas the army list entries will have 8-6).
I wish bikes had a 20-15 INCH move.
