I'm planning on starting Dark Angels, And I have the plan of running Belial and Sammael an an entire Terminator/Attack Bike army + 1 dreadnought in a drop pod with a locator beacon.

The plan is that the drop pod comes down near the opponent and the terminators then come down near it whilst the bikes rush up and harass the enemy.

My question is will it work?

Really the bikes are meant to do what your drop pod is doing - provide a location for your terminators to deep strike. Belial's squad won't scatter, of course. Sammael might not be necessary unless you REALLY need those bikes to be scoring, but I would say it depends what points you're playing at.

The plan was to take Sammael and Belial to make terminators and bikes troops.

Belial provides you with a precise strike. Sammiel makes your bikes troops. But this is at a cost of almost 400 points. Perhaps you should thing about Azriel instead if you want both as troops. This will almost pay for the dreadnought and drop pod. The problem is Azriel neither comes in terminator armor nor a bike. Perhaps attached to a command squad, veteran squad or even a tactical squad.

It will work to an extent, but don't expect the lonely drop pod to survive to turn 2 very often :p

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

In my own use of a "death wing Assault" list, my hardest match-up is usually against mechanized IG. They just have those AP 2 weapon to make you rely on your invul save.

So make sure you have at least one guy with a TH/SS to put closest to the enemy units.

I like to say I have two armies: Necrons, and Imperium.....
