Okay, so I'm starting a Classical Greek (non-Spartan) army for War and Conquest. I'm taking a lot of hoplites (62% of my points) which means I am in need of waterslide transfers for a great many shields (72 to be precise, my veterans will have embossed shields). In order to keep my costs low I'm rooting through my old waterslide transfers and digging out whatever may be appropriate. So far I'm looking at:
The Ultramarine omega turned the right way
The white wing on the tactical squad transfer sheet
The Salamanders chapter badge
The all white skull on the tactical squad sheet
The Alpha Legion hydra
Does anybody have any more ideas as to other transfers to use (I'm not about to use Forge World transfers unless someone offers them up)? How about if any of the decals I listed above are not appropriate? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

"I have concluded through careful empirical analysis and much thought that somebody is looking out for me, keeping track of what I think about things, forgiving me when I do less than I ought, giving me strength to shoot for more than I think I am capable of. I believe they know everything that I do and think, and they still love me. And I’ve concluded, after careful consideration, that this person keeping score is me." -Adam Savage |

I would seriously consider either free handing simple designs or, if you have an airbrush, making one or two stencils to use. you'd be surprised how easy simple designs can be free handed if you think about it in terms of basic shapes layered on top of each other instead of trying to realize the whole design at once.
get the strokes down and it will probably be faster than using decals
