I'm trying to make a counts-as Abaddon for my Iron Warriors army. I'm not fond of the model and it doesn't really fit into fluff for me anyways. However I wanted to make a model to count as him. As of right now I was planning on using one of the swords from Puppetswar http://puppetswar.com/product.php?id_product=138 and the bionic claw from Anvil Industries http://www.anvilindustry.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&filter_name=bionic&product_id=173 I also have the servo harness from a Techmarine, and a couple of different servo arms to make it appear more Iron Warriors like. However, I am having a problem with the combi bolter that is on the Abaddon model. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for that, I was thinking the Techmarine's flamer or something in that category. If anyone has any suggestions I'd really appreciate it.

Well that depends on how close you want him to be to the original model.

There are many possible ways to go. I for myself would try to mirror the wargear as closely as possible which means a true combi bolter and no flamer. Just cut up two bolter or bolt-pistols and put them on the back of the claw.

Another possible idea is to use the servo arms as counts-as power claw and use a regular clawless bionic arm instead of the power claw arm. Then you could either put the weapon in his hand or build them into the servo arms. In the second case you could mount two seperate bolters on two arms (a combi bolter is in essence just two bolters strapped together).

Another conversion could be to use exhaust pipes in place of abaddons trophy racks. Its iron warrior'y and creates a similar footprint.

But whatever you do remember that at the end of the day the rule of cool beats all other rules

I like the idea of exhaust pipes. That would be very cool. Maybe the bits from the Defiler?

I think the power claw as a servo arm would be a cool idea. It would at least lead to more flexibility. Also I like the idea for separate bolters on each arm! Thanks for the ideas! I appreciate it! Also the rule of cool is important
