Been looking around for awhile and all i ever find when i google, search on here, or youtube is people just hacking off a pklaw from the AOBR boss for a more unique, bigger power klaw.

I dont wanna do that. Not only because i only have 1 and dont wanna ruin it, but i dont want to rely on AOBR stuff cuz its starting to dry up. Halfway tempted to buy a lot more deffkoptas even though i really dont need them just in fear of them going away lol.

Anyway, i was wondering if anyone knew a way to make a custom powerklaw out of plasticard and plastic pipings, or hell other 40k bitz. Im trying to make a klaw for a Wazdakka conversion and im using chainswords for the fingers, i just need to find a way to make the body. Making boxes with plasticard is always a weakness for me, let alone the pipings/wirings orks tend to have lying around.

Well, I used this model as the basis for my Warboss:

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod1110229

The model itself is taller than a Nob but not as tall as a Kan. The two PKs on there are the size of Ghazghkull's but be warned, they are metal. In fact, I think I've read on the forum The Waaagh! that Thraka's arms were based on those ones.

As I obviously have no idea how big your model's torso is I just throw this out as a suggestion for something you could use on a very big Ork. The "thumbs" on those claws are built into the arm but the fingers are separate, so you could just attach your chain blade fingers and be well away.

Driven away from WH40K by rules bloat and the expense of keeping up, now interested in smaller model count games and anything with nifty mechanics.

well three chain swords Pinned together ( literally run a straight pin or paper clip thru to hold the three together the hilts and bend and clip the ends do not glue yet ) some old bell wire ( from that old corded telephone in the closet) for wiring ( lackign that some flora wire works well to I like bell wire because I dont need to paint it )
no plasticard just a bit of green stuff to make it all work and look good ..squished together kind of boxy to hold the chain swords together ..push in several bits of bell wire and run the around the model as needed...

Note I've used a power fist and lightning claws opposite it as well as a power claw ..With green stuff and wire ..and some small diameter (2mm) tubing to be well tubing held together with soem nicley shaped green stuff ..will take soem pics of a conversion later this week when at home and have a chance to

Automatically Appended Next Post:
another nice thing and its readily avaible atm ..is half a pincer from a chaos beastie on one side and a power fist opposite ..nice trophy and functional to ..

There are tons of ways to make custom PK's, out of plasticard, boyz choppas, dreadnought powerfists on warbosses, terminator power fists, etc..

The best thing to do is google "how to make a power klaw" and look at the results and "look at other results from this website." For example, there's this very old thread on The Waaagh! forums that can still be used today, although with some alteration.

http://www.the-waaagh.com/forums/?showtopic=30595

EDIT: If you want to make a claw for Wazdakka, you should use one of the power klaws from the nob kit, preferably one that goes on the left side and the chainsaw from the sentinel kit. Cut off the chainsaw part and glue it onto the klaw, and boom! You now have a power klaw that stays true to the one in the codex. Plus, Wazdakka's a mek, meaning he's smaller than a boss, and you can just use a nob body for him as well!

Im actually making it a righthanded klaw, the bike is already going to be way off from the actual picture so im not worried about being authentic to the pic.
Reason hes getting a right klaw is because i wanted him to actually hold a KMB so i dont have to find a way to cut the arm off the one i have and stick it somewhere on his bike without making it look weird, and the only KMBs i have are left-handed.
i'll look at those websites when i get home, work computers block it for some reason but not this site lol.

Why are all the Wazdakka conversions I see never true-blue to the ONLY picture of him? Plus, he can't have a kustom mega-blasta in his hand, how will he ride his bike?

My normal warboss steers with his pklaw

Yea i know its a bit odd, i might say eff it and mount it on the bike anyway. Reason im not making the bike exact as the picture is because while im fairly good at cooking up a conversion im bad at mimicing one. Like his pic shows one normal klaw finger and one large chainsaw finger, i was using 3 chainsaws for the 3 fingers because it just looks badass.
