Already pre-ordered

Don't think I can justify the expense/time-away-from-kids of going to Salute this year or I'd pick it up in person :(

Sounds cool but couldn't find any other information on it - what scale does the system use?

Its the same rules as Battlegroup Kursk, aimed at 15mm and 20mm.

and 6mm too from this book onwards, right?

I remember seeing a general 'What is BGK' post by you on TMP, Piers.

Maybe worth doing something like that up again for BGO if you have the time. I now know that I really want this but I had to do a fair bit of research to find out all that I wanted to know about BGK

Yes we use 6mm... We did want to do a piece on using 6mm in this book but ran out of room.

Free US infantry sprue with pre-orders.

Here's my brief primer - this is from what I've seen online, some of this is just my best guess (ie BGO book format).

Squad to Company level gaming.
20mm, 15mm & 6mm supported.
Individually based supported. Group based supported with either casualty marker or unit roster.
Covers the combatants of the Normandy landings 1944 and the immediate aftermath.
13 (IIRC) lists including Panzers, German Paras, British Paras, Landing forces etc.
Good model support from http://theplasticsoldiercompany.co.uk for both 15 and 20mm. You can use models from any manfucturer and there's a huge range of 20mm and 15mm stuff out there. Good 6mm support from companies like GHQ, Adler, C&C etc.

Lists are designed to gently encourage more historical lists than you'd find in many games. Rare and unusual units for the time/location are restricted in availability. Buying individual tanks is somewhat more expensive than buying a squad (of 3).

Plays on tables from 4x4' (for 15mm squad size) through 6x4' (20mm squad size, 15mm platoon) right up to 8x8' or whatever you like within reason - I'm not sure where reason ends on this.

BGO comes in the form of a thick hard-back book covering the Normandy forces.
Rules themselves are available as either a mini rule-book format (as a bundle for an extra 8 or so dollars in pre-orders from PSC) or by buying the original Battle Group Kursk book which is the rules and the Eastern Front 1943 forces supple
ment.

Can some one tell me a bit about the activation system? Is it I-Go-You-Go, Reactive, or something else all together. Turn sequence is a big deal for me, when it comes to purchasing. Dorky? Of course it is.

Also, is BattleGroup Overlord stand alone, or do you need Battlegroup Kursk (or something else) for the core rules?

I know I really like the morale/break point system for this game, but I have been unable to find the answers to the above questions. I'm hoping someone can help me.

Thanks for the link.

I'm sad he didn't mention Aeronautica Imperialis when he was talking about his background. :(

So, I-Go-You-Go with interrupts. Sounds good.

However, he is talking about Kursk, so I'm still not sure if Overlord is stand alone or not.

For Battlegroup Overlord, if you do not already own Battlegroup Kursk, you will require the mini rulebook for the core rules.
