Hi me and my friends like to create and change units slightly in our friendly games to try out new combos. I wanted to see if this type of character would be balanced.
WS: 6 BS; 4 S:5 T:4 W: 2 I:5 A:3 LD: 10 SV: 2+
Special gear: Artificer, storm shield, Jump pack, blood chalice, liturgies of blood, blood blade (ap2 +2 strength), bolt pistol.
Special rules; FNP (4+), heroic intervention(removal of prevention with vanguard), IC, pack leader( any squad he has joined gains +1 ws, +1 I), Blood thirsty (Re-roll failed wound, opponents re-roll failed invulnerable save), Rage, Counter charge.
He counts as an upgrade option for the Vanguard Vets and can split away because he is an IC. His points are 250. What do you guys think? Is it balanced points cost? Do you think it will be fun to play this kind of home made character?
Thanks for any response or feed back.

Id happily play him and I think hes balanced, 250 for only a 2 wound model.. and most importantly, your opponent will take VV, and lets be honest.. they kinda suck, 1st turn assault included.
For a fair way cheaper Id get TH/ SS assault terminators and Vulkan.

Belongs in proposed rules.
Anyway, I'd play against it. It really seems slightly underpowered.

I honestly think the points cost could really be dropped down because he honestly hasn't got any real defensive ability thanks to only 2 wounds and no inv. He does have great offensive stats but really, he can easily die to a single meltagun hit.

so a storm shield doesn't count as an invulnerable save?... So what if his price tag was 150 then would that be more balanced?
And thanks for all the replies so far.

Missed the shield, sry.
He still seems a bit expensive, but at 150 he might be a bit undercosted. (compared to a similarly equipped captain)
I feel around 190 would be good, since he still does massacre anything he charges into.

I'd say he's slightly overcosted, at 220 or so he'd be just right, with one exception. Take into account that he's a BA Special Character and as such will benefit from DoA. He's got 6 S8 AP2 attacks on the charge from Deep Strike and lets his own squad reroll to-hit on the charge. I'd honestly drop the S bonus of the sword, an I5 Power Fist attacking from Deep Strike is crazy good, even if he's pretty fragile (which he isn't, really, a 2+/3++ save goes far, even with two wounds).
