Hi guys,

Well, i played a very good army some days ago with vassal engine.
using 3x techmarines with conversion beamer, and it was very fun and powerful

Then i decided to make that true, so i made a conversion.

take a look.

Everything that has rivets, would be made again.

Whilst it's a nice conversion, nothing immediately jumps out to me to say "Grey Knight" nor "Techmarine". He'd probably benefit from having a GK helmet and a servo arm backpack, as ATM it just looks like a random SM with a somewhat unusual-looking heavy weapon.

I have to agree, he could be more techy. Problem is though rulewise he exchanges his servo harness with the beamer so no standard servo arm. But he could be teched up with other stuff.
I used a devestator backpack from the plasmacanon for my conversion beamer and added additional powercables to the weapon(Sadly he is unfinished since i switched to CSM).
The weapon itself looks nice and chuncky as you'd expect a beamer to look like. But like i said, a backpack change and some cableing would tech him up. You could also add some techy tentacles like the chaos warpsmith has and attach a servo skull or some similar bit to the end.

thx Very much!!! the Devastator Backpack is a very good idea,
i think i would change that!. and maybe, legs could be more techy

the truth is, that i tried to make an easy and cheap techmarine

using the pilot bits of rhino and razorbacks, a leg from a fixed pose space marine. and some bits from Gk

Everything that has rivets, would be made again.

Cheap is great and looks fine as is. (needs more cables)

But imho the front barrel doesn't fit well to me (to simple)
would rather see more cooling fins and energy parts.

Well depending on your scratchbuilding and Greenstuff skills you can always tech up the legs. This for example is another tech marine i converted (also unfinished like my conversion beamer one ) Especially the plasticard bits on his feets are easy to create. Plasticard under his feets and them square plasticard bits around it.

If you arent good with green stuff you can also glue thin plasticard armor plates to his legs seen on this one.

Maybe sculpt or buy some mechanicus icons to make it more obvious?
