I’m blizzard bound this weekend, so no gaming for me. Time to start my final WH project I reckon

*I’m going for a Slaanesh theme (with undivided models maybe but no other Dark gods )
*I’d like to go Troop heavy, and would like to know how you would outfit squads of marines (Both normal Slaanesh and Noise marines)
*I’m building a Lord on a bike with Plasma pistol and Power sword. Any good, or would you change the loadout?

Aside from that I’m open to suggestion. Looking for about 2000pts. (I’ll be open to sculpting a handful of ally Daemons once the new codex comes out, but not before)
I’m not getting a lot out of this game, so it’s worth almost no investment from me. (I have the DV set already, or I wouldn't even bother.) I can scratch build like a mekboy and I have months to build this, so feel free to toss out ideas. (Still, I’d love recommendations for alternate models; especially for Demon princes, HS, etc.)

Thanks in advance

A good start would be to take what you have from the DV box and include that in your army.

So, a small unit of chosen, 20 man unit of cultists and a Brute. not a bad start, add in a few units of marines, a bike squad with MoS and the icon of excess to run with your lord, maybe a sorcerer to enhance the noise marine weapons, or a flying DP with the black mace.. very nasty very killy model that one.

Heldrakes are pretty standard in CSM armies right now, as they are pretty fantastic for the points. Obliterators make for a good heavy support choice.

I am glad that you have chosen Slaanesh, the God of Excess and pleasure welcomes you.

I actually wouldn't take the Lord on a Bike. Sure t5 is great, but outflanking your bikes is awesome, and so is +1 attack. the Slaaneshi Steed is a pretty sweet deal. Sure there isn't a 40K model for it, but this Warrior's of Chaos model would be really easy to convert into a 40K Lord. As for load out, the Burning Brand is a great piece of War Gear, and Going Power Fist + Lightning Claw gives you a bonus attack and a lot of flexibility in close combat. I would stay away from plasma pistols, not enough bang for your point.

As for outfitting Nosie Marines, either make them shooty or close combat oriented. Shooty squads should take Blast Masters and Sonic Blasters, while CC squads should take extra cc weapons, and a Doom Siren. You want to keep your Noise Marines specialized, otherwise they get too expensive.

Generic MoS Space Marines should probably take extra cc weapons, 2 melta guns, and Veterans of the Long War if they are not accompanied by a fearless character. Veterans on the Long War is only really worth it on squads without fearless, as you really only want it for the leadership boost, Hatred Space Marines is just a bonus.

Icon of Excess is great but expensive. Its better on Larger squads or squads where you are bunkering an HQ.

As for Daemon Princes... Reaper Miniatures has some pretty good stuff if you are looking for something a little less bulky and more slaaneshi. My Gallery has some conversion pics from a reaper model mashed with the GW kit as well.

As has been mentioned Hell Drakes are pretty great. Rhinos are still good if you are running smaller squads

One last thing, Generally Noise Marines are really just fantastic at killing infantry and power armor, so you need to focus the rest of your list on killing heavy vehicles and terminator armor. Melta Guns are great for this. If you get carried away with Blast Masters and Bale Flamers, a Landraider or 2 filled with THSS termies will clean your clock. So cram in some melta. Termicide works great (minimum terminator squad with 3 combi meltas), Melta Guns on your bikes, Melta Guns on your generic CSM, and even combi meltas on some of your Rhinos

Pretty much everything the guy above me said noise marines should be kept shooty unless they are a bodyguard for a foot lord give a big unit of NM a Biomancy Sorceror and suddenly your salvo wepons become assault wepons. Cultists make an excellent meat sheild to protect footslogging armys as they advance especially noise marines as your opponent gets no cover save from you shooting through your own troops. Raptors also make a good bodyguard unit for a lord as do chaos termies, Chaos termies with FNP and a termie lord with the black mace is pretty brutal especially if you use huron or Ahriman to infiltrate then. Last but not least Lucius the eternal is worth giving a whirl he is such a badass in challenges that he can take quite alot of HQ's out just dont send him against anyone in termie armour with a powerfist

Noise marines are fantastic, fearless, shooty troops. At 2000, I'd be looking to include at least four squads.

Something like these loadouts:

10 noise marines inc noise champion
8 sonic blasters
2 blastmaster
=264

Puts out 2 small battle cannon markers that ignores cover and causes pinning, and 24 bolter shots each turn.. I'd take two of these squads.

Alternative configuration is to go for MSU and take 4 of these

5 noise marines inc noise champion
4 sonic blasters
blastmaster
137

For CC you could go:

5 noise marines inc noise champion
4 CCW
VoTLW
doom siren + pwr wep on noise champ
=133

But these need Rhinos to work. And of course you can bump their size.

Good complimentary units to noise marines are transport and armor poppers, like Obliterators and termies with combi weapons.
