Looking at the old PDF for the Land Raider Ares I was thinking it could use some tweaking.

Here is my proposal:

Tank (no transport capacity)

Two TL HF sponsons
Hull mounted TL AC

Dozer Blade

Options:

Siege Shield +10
Exange TL HF sponsons for Flamestorm Cannon +30

Looks fine to me, but I would drop the Siege Shield down to 5 pts.

I would actually raise it to 15 or 20. The Vindi pays 10 and the Ares has major advantages including

4HP
AC
Flamestorms/HFs
Doesn't become a slighly bigger target with a siege shield.
