Say I allocate 3 or more Precision shots to a particular enemy model with my shooting (i.e. flyrant with 2x TL-Devourers trying to shoot down the paladin with Brotherhood Banner). Assuming I kill that model with the first 2 shots (paladins have 2W), what happens to the excess wounds that I had allocated to him as well?

A) They are lost completely.

b) As they are Precision Shots, I can reallocate them to another specific enemy model within the unit.

c) They just become a normal wound in the wound allocation pool and will affect the closest model as normal.

What say you, dakka?

A. You assigned the precision shots to the selected target. If you chose to assign excess shots to make sure that you kill the selected target, that's the risk you took. The benefit is you made sure that heavy weapon, special weapon, sergeant, or HQ model snuffed it.

Wounds from the pool are assigned individually. You assign 1 wound and make the relevant saves. If the model dies, you assign the next wound somewhere else. If the model saves you can repeat the process until all the precision wounds are done.

This. If you have 3 precision shots and he dies to the first one, you have 2 left to allocate.

Please reread the rules on allocating wounds; you by default assign individually until the pool is emptied or the model is dead. You cannot assign 3 at once because the model may die after the first 2 wounds, so fast rolling is not allowed.

Trigon Prime with 12 shots = fun precision.
