How handy is it to have a vast militia that's just planted in the ground, waiting to pop out when needed?

That's what this faction of undead Imperial Guard were supposed to do

I'll post a few more images later!

That might have been one of the skulls you find stuck on the chaos vehicle spikey bits. A lot of my skulls come from those!

I didn't get a chance to make any more of these guys, as the project kinda ended early...

Absolutely amazing! Will these be used as an avenging Imperial force, or dirty traitor guard?

Wow, I really like those - simple but effective. Thanks - I have a small bunch of Guard & Undead I was going to sell...I might just undeadify ( ) them instead as they wouldn't go for much...

I'd love to see a whole army done like that - top work. Thanks for sharing

Many thanks!

Maybe someday I can get back to those guys. Right now the focus is all on Dark Eldar, trying to get them ready for Adepticon!!!!!!

I just posted the first color test for the Grotesques on the blog yesterday

that's a really clever idea. nicely painted one thing that's missing for me, though, is some evidence of their original cause of death. aside from some scratches and dents, their uniforms are in great shape. I'd expect to see slashes, bullet wounds and other trauma on the recently dead. just a thought for next time

Soon as I saw them the first thing I thought was how cool it would be to see a power sword or something stabbed through one of their chests.
