bushes are easy. find large cotton balls or cotton wadding, form into the rough shape you wish, then paint over it with a latex paint. it will create a kind of rubbery shell over the cotton that won't flake off with use. My sister did this to a model of a church and the bushes are still intact.

that is a nice method. sounds cheap for massive amounts of them.

Cheap, effective, and clean. Woodland Scenics stuff is great, but the foliage is fragile.

My 2c is that the woodland scenically stuff looks a bit too vibrant for 40k...they are very realistic trees but the aesthetic doesn't match up very well...additionally you don't save a ton of money with their products over gw, which is surprising.

Model railway stockists often have large bags of trees (100s aren't uncommon) for about the same price as 20-30 GW trees.
They aren't the best quality for model railroad (they are generally "fillers" - they use the good stuff up close.) but they do for gaming purposes.

Thanks for all the input guys, really.
Well I am looking to creat a Vietnam, as that is where my orks back story goes. Thus lots of vibrant trees, and grass and bushes

your best bet for super lush jungle type foliage might be aquarium plants combined with the woodland scenic armatures.

You can tone down ready made tree colors with a light dusting of paint from a rattle can or airbrush (one of those places single action brushes are great as you can dump paint faster).
If you are in the US or Canada...take a look at Scenic Express...they have a large selection from a variety of manufacturers.
There are a lot of different companies who make trees for everything from realistic African Savanah type trees to the bottle brush trees. As metioned though, some can be delicate...or at least more delicate than GW trees. I have never had significant issues and have bought from well over a dozen companies, though I am fairly selective with who I game with.
For jungles specifically, some gum trees from a company like JTT for the canopy, some palms from Pegasus, a bunch of fake ferns from the craft store (cut the leaflets off and they are a good size for gaming ferns) and some paper plants from Fredericus Rex or some etched brass made for scale modelers. Aquarium plants have a good selection of bits...but try to pull them apart some, a lot of people use them right out of the box and it looks like an aquarium is being invaded by lilliputians.
