After reading over some "best loadout" posts I came to think about what MCs excel at what. Originally I was considering the Carnifex vs the Wraithlord and how the two stack up. This lead me to think about what was the best MC for a given role. As a Tyranid player I have plenty of experience with Tyranid MC's but I don't know much about the other MC's out there. I have looked at the other codexs so seeing their stats and their options isn't an issue. The problem is how do they function within an army and who does what role best.

So I was hoping to get the input of other users in determining what MC does what role best. Like which is the best in CC, shooting, resilience, support, etc with an without point cost as a consideration.

For example, I think the Tervigon is the best support MC. It spawns troops, buffs those troops, and has the option to become a troop choice itself. This is just my opinion and it could be wrong. The DE Cronos Parasite Engine might actually be a better support MC but I've never played or fought one before.

Best CC, Swarmlord but I could be bias.

Canifex Quote: I love Rhinos. They are crunchy on the outside, and soft and chewy on the inside.

Id say the Daemon Prince can match the swarmlord. Make him a damein of which ever god you want chuck on him power armour wings and the black mace and bam all of a sudden hes better than a swarm lord (he can do it like a brother do it like a dude grab his crotch wear his hat low like youu) XD

Dreadknights are frightingly powerful for their points, especially if you upgrade them with the Sword (and why wouldn't you?).

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

Flying hive tyrant is the best flyer and anti fly option I believe. 12 STR 6 AP - Twin-linked shots may not seem like much against a vehicle. But, coupled with the fact that it can have skyfire and can fire in any direction even while flying makes it very mobile and hard to deal with.

Going to mention the Tervigon as the single best MC in the game for force multiplication (literally and tactically, giggle) and board control. There isn't really anything else in the game that behaves like a Tervigon.

For pure destruction, Khorne DP with Wings, PA, AoBF, Combat Familiar, Ichor Blood and Gift of Mutation is genuinely disgusting.

5+D6+2 attacks on the charge at WS and Int 8, Str 9and 2 Str 4 attacks. Plus a bonus from Gift.

But for allround- Swarmlord. Not only is he supremely powerful in combat, but also a psyker with 4 powers (Biomancy yeah!), and brings massive amounts of force multiplication.
