So I was once trying to figure out what army I'd like to start with in the WH40K universe, when I combined alcohol with looking at some book with traitor legions' descendent chapters and paint schemes. One (really all) of the Emperor's Children successor chapters was very pastel. I wondered about the perversity of putting an ageless, corrupted killing machine in pink and purple. Somehow I thereby got the idea of a Chaos Space Marine army based on Prince.

Yes, Prince.

Lavender and gold. The Slaanesh symbol looks pretty close to Prince's pseudonym symbol when he boycotted his own name. Calling the General "The Artist" as Prince preferred during his boycott of his name. Sticking small speakers into a chaos rhino, predator, or (Little Red) Landraider to play a playlist of Prince songs. Perfuming the units with something dark and floral. A lord unit with something like Prince's face on it. Noise marines. Daemonettes. I wish Daemons could be used in other armies still.

So the point of all this is that I have some ideas but it could use some fleshing out. What kind of army list, themed tactics, modeling ideas, etc can any of you think of? Also, if someone else has a goofy WH40K army idea, I'd love to hear it. I feel a bit embarrassed alone in this sort of thing.

And yes, despite being a mostly metal and roots rock/country fan, I have always loved Prince.

You can only play 1999 pts with it though!

lots of noise marines and the FW blastmaster dread would seem appropriate.

Also converting up some marines with assless power armour. And a rhino or land raider with the top converted up to look like a stage with drums and microphones and the like.

Excellent! I had totally forgotten about the noise dreadnought. Assless armour will be fun, too. I'm a little intimidated by the rhino conversion, but I do have some old, poorly done rhinos. Insisting on 1999 pt games is beautiful. Also thinking about modeling a few models in some units with raspberry berets. Or a whole unit of cultists! Hooray for green stuff! Also, weren't old noise marine models equipped with guitar-shaped weapons?
