Yo, Dakkanites -

As all the armies - including Orks - are getting flyers, I am converting an Icarus gun mount by stikking on some lovely dakka guns and mounting it on my Ork trukk along the lines of the Flakka-dakka rig in the Aporkalipz Reloaded book. I'm planning on using it in regular 40K games per the specs in Reloaded. Any opinions on protocol regarding this scenario from your experience? Per the Jervis, I would certainly ask my opponent if they mind, but I am curious as to your views. I do not have access to Imperial Armor books, so if it has the "40K Approved" stamp, please advise.
I and Klobber Noggin the Warboss thank you in advance for your input.

Its not native to your codex so its polite to ask. If your opponent has problems then just run it stationary as a quad gun.

If your group allows FW units rules you should be fine, it would be best to ask what the local opinion on FW units and rules are, some groups promote their use all the time, some restrict them, and others ban them.

It's also a good idea to tell people you plan to use FW units before the game as they may not be comfortable with them and to give them a heads up that you are willing to consider using FW units so they can also use them if they wish.

A; if the club allows the use of them than sure.

B; if you're going to use it be sure to have the appropriate book handy.

Personally, as you've already expressed you'll ask first, this is the most important part. I'd be perfectly happy as long as I got to check the model's rules first.

Should you wish to bring an Apocalypse unit to a game of 40K, you have to agree with you opponent that you are playing an Apocalypse game. Just as you would have to agree to any expansion-game (Cities of Death, Planetstrike, Spearhead, Planetary Empires, Crusade of Fire...and Apocalypse) in order to use any expansion-specific rules or units.
