The price-gouging I've seen is kind of sad. I saw them going for over 100$ at times on Amazon before the resupply.

There is a guy I'm friends with on facebook that was buying up the ships his FLGS had and then selling them on ebay at a markup simply because it was so easy since these things are hard to get.

I've been thinking about starting to play this game. Is the game play pretty straightforward? Is it similar to wings of war?

It is very similar to wings of war, I however would say X-wing is more polished and refined (though I havent played wings of war in a very long time, I think the rules have since been updated but I can't be certain).

The rules are very straight forward, I've taught a 68 yr old man to play (with no background in gaming) as well as a teenager with the attention span of a gnat. It's fantastically simple.

I tried doing this, buying stock from a gamestore that I hated to make a profit. Eventually it wasn't worth the time. Lol. And holy crap, $100 on Amazon?! Tom, I want more money!!! Lmao.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

You need a good foundation to build a strong house Though technically I have 2 TIE fighters, 3 X-wings, 1 Y-Wing, 1 YT, 1 TIE Advanced and 1 TIE interceptor. I didn't pick up the firespray because someone had bought it.

Played a 170pt friendly game tonight on a 3'x3' mat, no asteroids, 2 players per side, Imps 2 points down.

Imperials:
- 3x Sabre
- Turr
- 4x Obsidian
- Howlrunner

They had upgrades, including Swarm Tactics, but I can't remember what.

Rebels:
- Green Squaddie w/Cluster Missiles
- Arvel w/Cluster Missiles
- Tycho w/Cluster Missiles
- Lando in the Falcon w/Nien and the Merc Co-Pilot
- Dutch with Ion Turret, nilla R2, 2x Protons

Pictured: movement phase on Turn 3.

Lando and Dutch ran down the right (Rebel facing) side and turned left in front of the TIEs, who spent most of the game pinging it, while the A-Wings and Interceptors jousted. The Falcon finished with 1 damage, 1 crit. Dutch finished with 1 damage. Arvel died but the other two A-Wings weren't scratched. The Imps lost everything but a Sabre and Howlrunner before calling it on Turn 5.

Despite the lack of anything too fancy, it was a fun game. I enjoy playing on a team and the mat did not feel to small for 170pts. Then again, I wasn't flying TIEs.

Unless something changed overnight, my FLGS has 3 interceptors and 8 A-wings in stock. If you're interested let me know, we will work something out, I can get them to you at retail + shipping (I try to use flat rate) OR if you have NIB Y-wings/Tie Advanced, I'm willing to trade retail for retail. I'll be stopping by later tonight, pm me if interested, first come first served.

Going off of that... if anyone does have NIB Y-wings/Tie Advanced, PLEASE let me know!

Yes, and as they have two dimensions 40x40 times four is 80x80

You shut up

In my head, 'quadrupling' didn't make sense in terms of 40x40 (as in I was simply multiplying by two and getting 80x80), as soon as I put it into area (so getting 1600mm for the area and 6400mm for the area, then it made sense). But again, feth math.
