I thought that other night that I don't know how I used to model without a big ball of blue tack beside me. I use that stuff all the time - to hold pieces, block parts of the model, test fit pieces, etc. You can spray paint over it and just ball it up and need it a bit and it is back to normal.

Dont lick your brush. especially if you are using non water based paints

Bluetack is also handy when cutting of a small piece off of a model when doing cinvertions, press what you want to cut off into bluetack so that when its cut, it does not shoot away and land on the floor somewhere.
