It's the first time I've seen the FW Night Lords dreadnought painted here on Dakka. I really love the models, such a striking colour scheme.

I agree...the lightning is fantastic. The army is striking, with the deep baroque reds and blues you've painted it really gives your nightlords a brooding look. Excellent work!

I saw these pictures and was compelled to do an impression of an anonymous ninja's neck in a Jet Li film. (I went 'Snap!')

This is the best Night Lords army I've ever seen. I almost didn't want to tell you that, because I wanted the following comment to carry more weight: That Demon Prince is hands-down, bar-none, the absolute best Daemon Prince I've ever seen. Ever. This army is so good, I stopped and put on "Blue on Black" before composing this response. I just had to enjoy the army in the right ambiance. The free handing on that banner is stellar, by the way. And you've done an amazing job breaking up the back of it, which most people forget.

If you ever wanted to play a game with these, I would field half points just for the joy of seeing them on the same table as my models.

If it sounds like I'm gushing, it's because this is seriously some of the best work I've ever seen. It isn't just well done, it's well done without being pretentious. You didn't overdo any of the little painting tricks that some people feel compelled to shoehorn in even where they don't belong, just to show how good they are at the hobby. You even managed to utilize the bat winged helm without making it look like butt. This is awesome, awesome work. Simply amazing.

dat lightning...

Phenomenal work, all around. The color scheme is just fantastic, and the lightning is perfect. Would love to see more pics of just the DP, as he looks particularly awesome, and it's hard to see all the detail in any of those pics.

Gargoyle wings on the little guys, hive tyrant wings on the prince.

I love the conversion work on the prince. Definitely would like to see some better detailed shots of him.

I think you could do a damn fine combat diorama. I'd love to see it, personally.

As a side note, a question on this work: what pieces is the Daemon Prince composed of? Did you sculpt him, scratchbuild him from other mini bits, or convert him from an already existing model? I'd love to know more about him. (As I said before, I think he is easily the best of his kind I've ever seen.)
