Hi folks, so i've been preparing for the new daemons, and beast's of nurgle finally got good. But 15 quid a model, for one, is just ridiculous. So I came up with a way of getting 10 models, for just over 30 quid instead. But I wanted to know how people felt about it.

It's basically, taking chaos warhounds, or zombie direwolves, from the fantasy line (Both look cool, and both may be made nurgley, but I'm not sure which to use), rebasing them on 40mm round bases, and then using a plaguebearer as a rider for them. I experimented with this myself, and found without even having to modify a plaguebearer, they fit perfectly on top, with a tight enough grip on the leg's that I don't even need to glue it to make it permanent.

I'm going to base and model them out in the same kind of style as thunderwolf cavalry, as in the new addition, beasts of nurgle are beasts, so move 12 inches and such, so the cavalry image works in my mind. But would people be cool with me doing this, or do you think it wouldn't be acceptable?

Sounds good to me - a decent example of the Rule of Cool(tm).
40mm is the same base as official beasts, as I'm sure you're aware, so have at it. ...just be sure to post up pics when you're done!

Not the best picture, and most are not painted. The bases also need sorting out, due to the wolf bases being obvious, and the lack of flocking and such.

But I think they show the general concept well. The direwolf box come with skulls on chains, so I used those as weapons for some of the plaguebearers, to give them a biker gang feel

BoNs behaving like my late canine companion is the reason why I'm wanting to take a dozen or so, this lupine approach to budget spamming definitely works for me!
