Went to a GW store in Oxford Street for the first time in years, to buy some munitorum dice. They gave me a scatter dice for free, since I didn't have one.

To be fair GW have usually been decent with replacements or misorders.

The blokes at my FLGS are always good to me. Replaced sword part of my Balthazar Dark Vengeance model no problem even though I had already cut almost all of the kit off the sprue and they could have said I damaged it myself (I don't think I did, I just didn't notice that it was damaged until I went to cut it off). Always very happy to stop and chat no matter what they're doing and last time I was in the guy offered to play a few games with me with his store armies next time I was free.

GW might be pricey and people might complain about them, but I am still happy to spend my money there. The guys are great blokes and always full of smiles and advice and take the time to learn my name and what interests me. I like that kind of old school customer service.

Eh, i really cant complain bout GW providing free things lol. I had a box of ork boyz come with no bases so they sent me TWENTY bases for some reason not the 10 normally in the box lol...im like sweeeet...

Yeah, they're especially nice when their herp-derp distribution manager takes 4 months to send in the order for your deathleaper & boneswords.... especially when your FLGS complains that people are cancelling orders due to gross incompetance

I suppose ultimately store culture comes down to the people running it. Some managers are great. Sometimes they're douchey. All companies suffer from this problem.

What really comes in is how entitled the average player feels to 'good service'.

The store I used to go to had great staff. I was very new to 40K when I went there to ask why there weren't any Blood Angel decals included in AOBR. One of the guys sneaked me 2 decal sheets.

The younger person that works at my FLGS is a bit of a jerk. But I guess it is because he is older than me or something. They are all pretty nice the older guys though who have been there since the store opened are super friendly and helpful.
