Hello Dakka!

23 y old swede here! Been playing (well mainly painting) fantasy till and from during my teenage years, mainly High Elves.
Was planning for another comeback but to get a new fresh start with dwarves instead, but from ive understood from the rumors, dwarfs new army book shouldnt be to far away so rather wait. Dont like the feeling of buying loads of troops only to place some of em on the shelf.

Waiting for the dwarfs led me to looking at 40k instead, always wanted to try it out in smaller scale but its alot easier to afford several armies in this hobby when your a little older..
Always been interested in SW but space marine models seem to be so boring to paint, ateast the normal gray paint scheme so while figuring it out im gonna start with Tyranids aswell.
Going from elves and their more or less human models to space monsters is a nice little change Only thing for good or bad is that SW seem to have more standard army lists, while tyranid lists seem to be different every time.. really hard for me that dont know the rules to figure out where to start with miniatures, dont wanna buy some that just end up useless in games..

Oh well, seem to be a nice community here with loads of helpful people so I guess it wont be hard to figure out where to start

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

Welcome to Dakka and to 40k

'Nids can certainly be fun to paint so I am sure you will enjoy them no matter what kind of list you run.

Don't forget to start a painting and modelling log to show off your work, and if you want advice on building a list, check out the 40K army list forum.
