So, I recently finished reading the Iron Warriors Omnibus and would love to know if anybody has any more information on how and when the Iron Warriors stole the Imperial Fist gene-seed they used to create the generation of Iron Warriors that Honsou was a part of?
Following on from that: where did they recruit from and more specifically, where is Honsou from originally?

Many thanks, Bauz

Its more like, they killed an Imperial Fist and looted his gene-seed.

As I understand, Honsou wasn't part of a whole generation of Imperial Fist gene-seeders.

There was probably ample opportunity to retrieve many IF corpses during the Iron Cage.

Angel Exterminatus goes into this.

Spoiler:
Lexicanum's paraphrasing of the subplot "Honsou's gene-seed originated from 'Honourable' Soulaka, an Iron Warriors Apothecary who was murdered by Fabius Bile, who was then responsible for melding Soulaka's gene-seed with that of an Imperial Fist, likely Captain Felix Cassander. It is highly possible that Honsou's name originated from the container that Soulaka's gene-seed was kept in, as after a laboratory accident part of the name had been wiped off leaving only "Hon Sou".

The Iron Warriors raided a mechanicus forge world and stole large quantities of the gene seed that were being stored to potentially create new chapters.
