First infinity minis, and really my first go at painting anything that isn't a Space Marine.

What paints did you use for the skin tone? Looks very nice.

Thanks very much. Since I was young I've always kinda wanted a desert guard IG army but have never really had the time, money or patience to do it. When I discovered infinity it was a perfect chance to finally paint some nice desert fatigues.

Thanks. I struggled a bit to find a recipe that worked but a guy at the local club advised VMC English uniform which is then lightened with VMC medium flesh then lightened again with VMC flat flesh. It's just the tone I was going for. English uniform is a great colour.

Good stuff. Good unified color selection, which conveys a very clear image for the soldiers. I like them.

Thank you Jim, appreciate it. It's always my intention, whatever kind of force I'm painting, to use a limited palette. And that's purely to create a unified look. It's always been my preference when looking at other peoples armies as well. I always liked the look of huge armies all painted with only one or two prominent unifying colours. That goes for everything from huge ork or tyranid hordes down to 10 man necromunda gangs.
