If I would field a Journeyman and give him a Lancer (Arc Node), can this Node only be used with spells from the Journeyman or can the Head Chief Warcaster also use hit Arc Node?

A spellcaster can cast spells through any
channeler in its battlegroup that is also within its control
area.

A Lancer assigned to a Journeyman will not be part of the warcaster's battlegroup so he won't be able to channel spells through it.

If you are running a Defender then you could bung it to the Jr. Cast arcane shield on it turn 1 and then upkeep AS and use the remaining 2 focus to crank out a fully boosted shot each turn afterwards, and that lets you take the Lancer with your main caster. The Hunter also works well with the Jr.

My Plan was to take a Nemo, 2 Hammersmiths and Ol' Rowdy and a Junior with a Lancer. Let Junior do some spells using the Lancer so Nemo gets Power Tokens and also use the Lancer for Nemo to keep the Heavy Warjacks buffed.
I could also just take the Lancer in Nemo's group and give the Junior a Hammersmith, but then he has to move up the field and wen he dies I have a useless Heavy....
Or take no Lancer but then Nemo has to stay close to his Jacks.....

Or just keep the Junior jack free. He works just fine as an Arc Shield bot, as his other spell is essentially useless with FOC 3.

If you give Junior a warjack, have it be one that doesn't need more than 2 focus. Preferably a shooty one. So you can get a fully boosted shot out of it.

You will be upkeeping Arcane Shield for the rest of the game so you have 2 focus. It would be a shame to throw it away.

For me, a Jr is an auto include with the defender. You almost never need more than two focus to get the most out of him, and if you do, then it's a hail mary melee charge, so you can drop the AS for that purpose and focus on getting 3 attacks to burn out the enemy cortex.

Works like a charm every time, and that extra arcane shield is precious stuff.

Jr works with the hunter as well, for that same reason, tho you tend to be more exposed that way.

If you ever do decide to run Jr by himself, boost the gun, dont bother with the shooty spell. His gun is actually pretty decent. It's still a bit of a waste though, 3 pts just for an extra Arcane Shield.

Consider Arlan instead

His Power Booster (which is considered casting a spell) can help with some combos, Defender usually really only needs to boost Damage

Also he brings Repair

Oh and Choose who you are going to have as your Main Jack (the one you will give 5 focus to), I personally suggest Centurion or Thunderhead

5 focus? how do you figure that? 4 I can understand, but 5?

Unless Nemo has a bond or something...or is that what his feat does?

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Its called Supercharge. pNemo can allocate up to 5 focus on one of his warjacks each turn.
