Afternoon Dakka, couple of rules/tactics questions for everyone:
Rules Questions:
1. Orders to CCS from CCS squad inside Chimera, possible or not?
2. Barrage weapons (Basilisks) “indirect fire” does it always scatter on a “hit” like orbital bombardment or a hit is still a hit, you just never subtract BS from scatter?
Tactics questions:
So my current list has Coteaz and Henchmen with my IG, I have (2) Monkees with the unit currently
Coteaz, 7 WA w/Bolters, 3 Servitors w/ MM
am thinking of replacing the Monkees for a Primaris Psyker and dumping him with my CCS for some added Dakka (same amount of points)
so if you guys could give me some pro’s and cons regarding either one.
Current list:
CCS chimera, plas x4
VS chimera plas x3
VS chimera plas x3
VS chimera plas x3
VS chimera plas x3
Basilisk x3
Coteaz & Henchmen
ADL with Lascannon
PBS x8
PBS x8
Vendetta
Vendetta
I’m experimenting with the PBS, I know everyone says they suck and it’s possible, but….
Its either that or 2 melta vets in the vendettas, problem with that is, by the time they pop out to do something the game could already be over.
Pros, They have good synergy with my Basilisks, and they can pop transports/lower armor vehicles quite easily.
Cons, fearless army they fail, witchy armies same thing.
Tactics would be to try and pop transport with PBS then hammer them with Basilisk, if on foot hit em with WR then try and get a wound on a dude.
So let me know what you think, i appreciate the feedback

1. No
2. On a hit, it doesn't scatter, but on a miss you do not subtract your BS.
Monkeys are great, but I'd ditch the WA's. They're just adding bolterfire to whatever you're shooting your MM's and Monkeys at.
Primaris Psyker is a lackluster 70 points that would better be spent on Marbo.
PBS's, as you know, are not good, and will almost never make back their points.
If you don't like the idea of meltavets in a vendetta, for 200 points you can get a PCS with 4 flamers (in a vendetta) and blob up 2 Platoon Infantry Squads with a Flamer and a Lascannon each. Good for holding objectives, and the fireball PCS is good for flaming something off of a backfield objective. Also is 50 points for almost guaranteed linebreaker.

going to have to back up the theory that psyker squads are not as hot as one would think
too fragile, and half the time you fail the LD on an 8 to fire,
great vs termies, but 80 pts orth of death cult assasins are more eefective, more resiliant, ect against such foes

Thanks for the reply Captain, as far as rules thats what i was assuming.
so, the WA's are primarily there for wound pool (35 points for 7 dudes) plus for Coteaz's IBEY (great for reducing nids/drop pod/demons/flyers) and if the monkees get rending and or extended range they become more effective (but not by a whole lot).
I might go the static gunline route and pull some points for some suicide demo dudes, drop them in the vendetta's, we'll see. Automatically Appended Next Post: I think PBs have a LDR 9 easy, but point taken.
with 200 points, should i focus on a grey knight unit (the big walker monster) or maybe 5 terminators, i'm thinking IG because thats really the only codex i've played, but i know GK have some good options.
