I love Tamiya sprays! they are thin, clean and go on smooth. You will need to prime first, so make sure you have a thin primer, but I prefer their paints any of the army painter primers or the flames of war primers...or...hush now...the GW stuff....its just a good quality paint that has been time tested. My dad was using it in the 70's and 80's loved it then and its only gotten better!

The Tamiya German Grey is a great base for IG...it works really well! Small can, but it holds a lot of paint.

I've used the Tamiya Red/Brown. It goes on very smoothly and I've not had any problems with the spray itself. The actual acrylics though aren't perfect matches for it, fyi, even if it's the same color. Not sure why.

I've used both their sprays and pots. The sprays do work very well. Note that although they are acrylic, they're very much solvent based. I've used them with craft and GW paints, but they will remove them if you're not careful. The paint in pots works best from an airbrush as opposed to being brushed on, but with a little Windex to thin them, they brush fine. Though I like their consistency, I only use a few for my miniatures, and mostly only because I have them.
Tamiya makes some of the best products in the industry, I love their scale kits and putty.

For that matter, all the Tamiya clears are great. The make lenses fast and easy. I haven't yet tried it but I imagine with a white basecoat they'd do the same for marine eyes..../rabbittrail
