As an escort unit to my termy int-Chaplain in a LRR am I better off with the knights or DW command squad? The knights look pretty awesome with their 2+/3++ save and multiple attacks. Granted ap 4 is kind of a downer but being strength 6 (i believe?) still seems intimidating to me. What's your take?

They really work but you should Use them either as a wing attack unit in a DW list or as a close combat counter unit in a Land Raider Crusader.

Also Librarians and Interrogator Chaplains Greatly improve the unit if you have the space.

They are beasts for the most part.......if you can smite on the charge you can wipe out entire squads with ease......but after you do that they become a bit of a bummer.

I couldnt kill a squad of space wolf devastators for the life of me last week after I had already smited. Guys devastators actually killed a few of the knights with some lucky rolls......pretty lame

Honestly having 5 termiantors with TH and SS might be better........considering you can use the weopons at full capacity the entire game

I love DW Knights, the beenfit of while I would always take them is the rule that allows them to be T 5, so link them together and termies are now T5 and throw the chaplain and or libby into that mix and they become toughness 5.

Sometimes they died horribly in situations they shouldn't of, but other times they've mowed through units like a hot knife through butter. Not to say don't take DW Command squad, I like popping the apothecary in that unit of TH SH termies and the banner that gives +1 attack. So now I have Belial and termies that getting base 3 attacks.

If you want a true CC deathstar I would go for the command squad with the champ, 3-4 hammers, maybe even a heavy flamer, and the DW banner. Combined with either a termie chaplain or termie librarian with prescience in a LRD or LRC. Apothecary costs a lot and you lose a PF, not sure it's worth it...

It'll cost a lot but will shred the designated target for sure.

The DW Knights are awesome for a cheap(er) deathstar, again combined with a termie chaplain or libby, as mentioned though, you could run into issues against AP2/3 once you've used Smite. But for 215pts you've got a very durable CC squad.
