Nicely done!

Great weathering on the Valkyr, the red/black scheme looks really nice on it.

Great job! I really need to continue working on my starter before passing to another project. I'm eager to try the game out.

I would like to give some feedback from the models.

I don't know if ether the used metal is too soft or there is just too many parts hanging out from the models, but despite my best efforts the models bend and break a lot. Especially the really flat swords and daggers. I had to remade the kunoichi's blades from putty.

On the same note the hanging out parts also make it really dificult to carry the models around.

Some models rely on really fragile points where parts can broke off. My Hamster berserker broke 3 times already. Once the handle of one of the axes broke off, then one of the axe heads and after I put it into the base it broke on it's ankles.

Wow, looks great! My favorite is the shrew hussar

Re: Model breakage, unfortunately hamsters are quite vulnerable to having their axe handles / wrists / ankles break, not much else for it except to be super careful with them I think .

Nice one Roo! I wish I could convince some of my buds to have a game, might motivate me to actually paint mine.

Is it just the hamster you've tried sculpting on? It looks good, did you use green stuff?

It's two component P3 putty. I only modded the Hamster because it broke on both on it's ankles.

I'm looking for forest terrain for Brushfire. The book is a little ambigious about it. I mean it is clear that the rules expect that in the forest terrain there should not be any tree(?). It mentions removable trees, but that doesn't seems to exist.

There are trees with bases so they aren't fall over. The problem is, the forest terrain gets removed if I remove the tree to put something there. So, that's a no-go.

Any ideas about what kind of wargame forest should I look after?

What a lot of folks do if they cannot find removable trees, is get trees on bases, and then get a piece of green felt cut into 'foresty' shapes, or plasticard spraypainted and based with grass or what not. The trees are then placed on these 'area terrain' pieces while displayed and devoid of models, but moved as models move onto the area terrain to keep them out of the way, then put back to keep up the illusion of realism.

What about Trenches? What kind of trench models I should get?

Acheson Creations makes some nice trenches:

Also Privateer Press has templates for trenches that you should be able to download for free... Works really well, and is cheap as hell to make.

I finally managed to put together all my models I ordered/bought. That includes five Samurais, five Shinobies, one Amamimoto, one Aquatar Trapper, five Fusuiliseur, five Shrew Hussars/Carabineers including one with custom kiwi armor based on the Shrew Hussar illustration, one Hyena Wich Doctor, one Badger-at-claw, two Valkyr pilots, a secound Valkyr, a secound Jaques, one workbeast from Endless, one ballista that was a gift(thanks!) and Lug the bear from Hordes who will serve as Newsky unitl he comes out.

And the Hordes two player starter's Oroboros half with a Warpwolf with custom-made wolftail instead of the wierd reptile tail.

The armor additions look great. Is that just plasticard or did you use something else?

It's made from P3 putty except for two pairs of buckles that are not really visible on that picture but made from thin wire.

I also made a custom tail for my warpwolf. Too bad the basecoat ended up having a lot of bubbles in it. I'll have to fix that first. I don't have any luck with warpwolfs. I almost destroyed my first one.

I can never get enough pictures of the brushfire models. The different angles from the OTL store shots give me a more complete picture of the minis. I especially like your rat warlord, valkyr, and ashigaru.

That putty work for the warpwolf tail is very nice. I've only ever scuplted fur to blend joints myself.

I have painted my Weasel Trapper and he looks like an illegal hunter rather than a commander of aquataar. With the fur coat and the traps he is carrying... I don't really see the commander in that model.

It has so much equipment the weasel gets lost in it.

Cool model though...

Also, it may have four trap tokens now, but it only ships with two.

The Trapper is based on the Courer du bois/Voyageur, the fur trader/explorers of French North America. They were not military per se, but they were historical 'leaders', in the same way one might look upon Louis and Clark, the Conquistadors, or explorers during the age of sail. In North America they had many of the first contact meetings with Native Americans/First Nation's People, setting the political stage for later relations.

Hey, that's an oil can!

Great models, although I'm not as sure about your camera

Actually a friend of mine made the pictures. I have no clue about cameras. I don't even have one. Which is why I can't make pictures when I'm done whith the paintings. The pilots where finished a month ago.

On that note, anyone knows a good tutorial about how to properly photograph miniatures?
