So, following the background of the Horus Heresy, I'm pretty sure Fulgrim turns on Perturabo on an Eldar Maiden world in his quest to achieve ascension to Demon Princehood, essentially my question to the community is how do you think this affected the two's relationship during events such as the battle for Terra, as it seems preposterous to me that the two primarchs legion's would be willing to fight side by side after what had transpired, regardless of Horus' capabilities as a general and a diplomat?

First off, great thread OP (been wanting to post something simillar)...

I'll ask another question : Would TS ( + Magnus who thinks that Angron is an "ugly soul") work with the WE and "Big Red Khorne Flake" who slayes psykers and Mortarion who hates them?....
Alphas secrecy? EC and IW like you said ? NL vs little of everybody...
In audio "Warmaster" Horus bitches how he would trade degenerates like Perturabo and Curze for Corax and Robby or any of his loyalists brothers.....In sum it up, I think "lack of unity" is the reason they couldn't win on Terra.....

ADB: I showed the Wolves revealing the key weakness at the heart of the World Eaters; showing Angron that his Legion was broken and worthless compared to the others; that he was the one primarch who couldn't trust his own warriors, and that they didn't care if he lived or died; showing that loyalty to brothers and sons is the heart of success for the Legiones Astartes, to the point even Lorgar makes a big deal out of saying the World Eaters and their primarch were massively outclassed by Russ, and Angron was too stupid to see the lesson Russ had sacrificed time, sweat, and blood, to teach. We're talking about a battle the Wolves won, by isolating the enemy general through pack tactics, and threatening to kill him, without a hope of defending himself. It was a balance, 50/50 - Angron overpowered Russ, and the Wolves were losing ground to the World Eaters; but Russ and his warriors had Angron by the balls, and barely broke a sweat. They won, no question. Lorgar even says: "The Wolves won, meathead."

Dorn won’t help you either. He’s too busy being the Emperor’s groundskeeper, hiding behind the palace walls. The Wolf is too busy cutting off heads as our father’s executioner, while the Lion holds on to his secrets, and has no special fondness for you. Who else will come? Not Ferrus, certainly. Nor Corax either. Even as we speak, I suspect he flees for Deliverance. Sanguinius?’ Curze laughed cruelly. ‘The angel is more cursed than I. The Khan? He does not wish to be found. So who is left? No one, Vulkan. None of them will come. You are simply not that important. You are alone.’ Konrad Curze to Vulkan

I honestly hate Perterabo, I like how he's well written and his character adds so much, but I hate him. He's bitter, at least Angron doesn't hide his bitterness. He's so fething unwilling to admit that he overreacted that he tried to kill his father. I think Perturabo is the most evil primarch to have existed, he didn't turn to Chaos because he thought it was the best option, he did it because he wasn't willing to change his mind.

I kind of disagree with you (to a degree)... stubborn and egotistical - yes, but evil; it depends what your definition of 40k evil is...
IMHO he is very simillar to Magnus (with the same flaws), but I'm afraid this is because Mcneill wrote him...which pissed me off honestly....

Horus probably made sure the two armies were as far part as possible during the siege. Remember, Perturabo is very loyal to Horus, maybe even enough to hold back his vengeance.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

Fulgrim didn't really "fight alongside" the other Traitor Primarchs at Terra. He got bored and more or less went on a torture/rape spree across the planet while everyone else was battling at the palace.

They work together because of a common goal and know that if either turned on the other Horus will smack them a good one... Everyone who has sided with Horus is a backstabbing son of a Emperor....

Their alliance is based on the fact that Horus convinced them that the emperor has somehow betrayed them... They are all angry at this and like the promises of the powers of chaos..
So for now they fight together, and then what will happen is what actualy happened in the 40k Universe.

Horus dies,... who is to lead now? They all find themselves superior to some other primarch,... fights break out... legions split,.. even second in commands think they have a shot... So now there are a lot of warbands

you mentioned it. Horus was the warmaster, he kept them all together by promising them each something through fighting the emperor. Horus was, among other things, by far the best leader of the primarchs. He was an even better leader than the emperor. He motivated his brothers to do whatever he wanted of them.

They failed to take terra because Horus died. They were in, the fortress was breached, all they had to do was finish the job. But once Horus was gone, the glue that held the traitors together was gone and they fled.

Still the traitors have enormous power, legions of troops but they cannot do anything because they have no leader to unite them. Abby is just a glimmer of what horus was.

I read this and have been searching,... yes they were both on Terra,... but not even close to eachother,...

Perturabo was shelling the emperors palace and tasked with breaching Rogal Dorns defenses,... while Fulgrim was on a massive killingspree/slave taking spree else where on terra,... where on terra is not stated,... afterwards fulgrim seems to have attacked his own brother traitor marines and was crushed beneath their bootheels and was saved by Slaanesh on the last minute and was given a secret pleasure world.. I do not know if this is to be 100% true

I would just like to thank you all for your contributions, some of the theories/fluff you guys have come up with has really helped
Just a quick one in response to 'Servoarm Flailing Magos', by your interpretation they wouldn't go head to head due to the warmasters influence yes? And yet fulgrim tried to kill off one of his brothers prior to the battle of Terra, one who was fiercely loyal to Horus, which would, in my opinion, greatly reduce the capabilities of the traitor legions. By my logic, if Fulgrim was prepared to strike such a blow to the warmaster prior to the battle for terra, what's to stop Perturabo flinging a few city squashing missiles in his direction during the battle?
Anyway, just something to think about
