Can a character with the Gift of Chaos: Many-Limbed Fiend choose to use a shield instead of gaining an extra attack?
I'd rather have my Beastlord with 3 arms be able to use a Great Weapon and a shield than just gain another attack.

As cool as that would be, and as much as I believe some of the older models might even represent it as such, I'm afraid Matt is right and the answer is no. We are forced to assume that the extra limb is some sort of claw, spike or other appendage incapable of using a shield or holding a weapon.
Unless you're Deathmaster Sniktch wielding a sword in your tail, in which case you're a bamf.

Maybe the option of using the Many-Limbed Fiend gift defensively instead of gaining an extra attack should be in the next Beastmen Army edition?
