Subject: If 40K Met ARMA (and a smattering of other games)

Imagine if you will. The vast open enormous maps of ARMA, the wide array of vehicles and weapons and options. But set in the 40K universe. All factions present and everything. Sure it would probably work better if we added a dash of Battlefront for a class system and maybe a few other minor touch's. Perhaps a little bit of Battlefield, some flight sims so we can include naval combat. Just imagine the possibilities. You and 3 other guy's are playing SM scouts and 2 of you have snipers. Suddenly you stumble upon an Eldar Ranger squad who start saying you should join up with them to help fight the orks who are just demolishing everything that particular match. Without even completely throwing the fluff out the window you decided to make a temporary truce and begin the work of using stealth, long range firepower, and hit and run tactics to harry the Orks. Let's assume a morale system was in place. Where Human Players put out a constant buff. Not completely undoing the morale system just making sure they were never suddenly alone because the AI all ran away. The snipers picking off orks would cause retreats in small area's possibly saving the lives of many of your own allied players and of course countless AI allowing the battle to become less one sided in a small area and the effect would spread. When the work was done your squad and the Rangers would part ways and everything would be business as usual. That's just ONE possibility.
I enjoy speculation from time to time.

I think it would only work with the grunts of 40k (eg, Guardsmen, Eldar Guardians, Firewarriors, etc; no power armour Space Marines, Nobz, Tyranid Warriors, etc), but it could be fairly interesting. I'm just not sure that ARMA is the best engine for a 40k game, in that 40k isn't even close to being a mil-sim.

i meant less the engine itself just the scope if offers. Also, With a large enough volume of AI units you could pull off having the big guys. Now shut up (attempt at humor) and join in my speculation! Because this is literally what I waste about 8 hours a day thinking about.

No class system, no silly area buffs, just import weapons vehicles and battlefields from a 40k setting and arma would be fun, I play arma in all its iterations and with a ton of mods, and it would make a excellent platform for a gritty 40k shooter where even normal guardsmen, and low level troopers could be important, plus it models vehicles pretty well, specially the newest Arma 3.
No modders unfortunatly have done anything with arma 40k related, not sure if its the community or just lack of interest about the setting, likely a bit of both.
