( pictures are way to large, on chrome i zoom to 50% to get the right size )

so when i got my first heldrake i was wondering if i should get another and make it a standard nurgle cconversion. make the thing fat a bloated etc. but instead i thought im gonna make somethign that resembles a blight drone only bigger and more insect like.

so i started to work o the back body and 3 weeks later the first picture of the new nurgle daemons came that had kinda the same feel to them. Only mine is hel drake size.

sorry bout the mess and sometimes blurry pics.. there is an old bloodletter standing underneath the monstrosity at some point for size refrence.

1 rotor isnt attached yet ( you can see 1 lying in the background) and the rotor blades arnt in the housings yet.

if you have any question on how i did something or what i used. Ill gladly awnser any quetions

Nice looking heldrake. And you pulled off the nurgly icky insectoid look perfectly. I don't play nurgle or i'd try to build one myself.
But what is this giger-esque looking metal piece on top of the model?

it used to be one of those gothic armor rings ' example
i just switched the plates around with the starter piece thing
could have probably made it better myself with some magicsculp, but i was lazy . its like the main part now of the middle body

This is looking pretty good so far.

im thinking of replacing the pencil with the goospray that the blight drones have as well. This is to represent the flamer that the heldrake wioll have seeing as there is no other visible weapon on him.( ow and the idea of a goo vector strike i just love ) lemme find a pic...
Any idea what kind of lastic they use? i was just planning on goign to town on diffrent gak i have lying around with a lighter till i get what i need

That would look good.

I think it may be better to use some brass rod for strength and then sculpt round it in green stuff or whatever you have.

Maybe some liquid epoxy or wood glue even to simulate the dripping, bubbling, mess?

I'm not a fan of the general nurgle aestetic but wow ... I'm still amazed how much details are on this sculpt. And now with the rotor attached it looks complete in it's nurgly icky goodness. A really awesome nurgle piece.

And i'm looking forward for your nurgle predator.

Hey Margorach!

Amazing work on this. I'm not sure if you answered this elsewhere - didn't see it, but what do you use for sculpting (the gray stuff)? and does it require baking or does it air-set like milliput? I'm working on my own bloated gasbag of a Heldrake and only materials I had handy at the time was Sculpty and GS. So I have done main body parts in Sculpty, baked it, and will add in the fun, Nurgle-y goodness in green stuff. For the second one though it would definitely save time if I could work with something a bit firmer, that didn't require baking/cooling time before adding top end details.
