As the title.

My question is though, where can I find helmets and weapons and armor that are fitting of the spartan (with possibly a pinch of the roman) style? I have a lot of ideas that I'd like to start a PM blog about, but I need some help to get started.

Edit: Oops. Sorry mods, I put it in the wrong Forum. Feel free to move it.

This isn't really the right area of the forum for a thread like this, but in any case Scibor does a nice line of "Sci Fi Spartans".

http://sciborminiatures.com/en_,shop.php

Just put Spartan into the searchbar on that page and you should find heads, weapons and armour to your heart's content.

Yeah I posted this thinking it was in the Gen. Dicussion thread, sorry.

But thank you for the site, I will probably use it in the future. Too bad I'm going to have to buy a set from them and a set from GW to do what I want to do.. gah that's a lot of money.

Anyone know where I can buy chain-axes?

Never-mind, found them: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Chaos/CHAOS_INFANTRY_AND_ACCESSORIES/CHAIN_AXES.html.
In case anyone else was wondering.

For anyone interested, I've calculated how much it will cost to purchase (not paint or assemble) 5 Minotaurs: $97.21. (US)

I will link my shopping list in my P&M blog when I buy it all.

I think I have found the most expensive army possible.

If anyone has a tutorial for green stuffing spartan like helmets, I'd love to get the link from you. I can't find the old one on the forum's anymore.

Have you looked at anvil industry? they might have what you are looking for and the prices look reasonable. They have axes and chain axes, more medieval looking armor and also helmet crests.

Another thing to remember about Minotaurs is that they have a load of Mk. 8 armour, so that might be worth taking into account too.

These guys have some brilliant spartan helmets, as well as shields, chestplates and shoulder pads (although the shoulders are pretty different to GW and are probably something best saved for artificer armour).

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Looks great. I have a huge shopping list of "wants". So far, my first squad of 5 is going to cost $97.21 for just the parts.
