While reading about the dark angels I found a image that was labeled Lion el Johnson and the lion guard. Does anyone have any info on the Lion guard?aybr from a book or even a source that I have yet to see?

It's *probably* back from the days of the Order on Caliban... or possibly a nickname for an Honour Guard. Can you post or link to the image please? Should help in giving us more clues.

The picture is from warhammer40.wikia.com
Them being a honer guard, sounds very possible. I guess since I can't find anything about it I could always make my own fluff for it.
If you click that link and the click the picture of Johnson you can shuffle through them it's the third picture.

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Looks like fanart to me. It's possible it's Black Library though, I suppose I'll be corrected soon if that's the case...

I don't think that's fanart but it most certainly is a fan caption.
As an aside when ever you deal with the 40k wikia you should always have a bag of salt handy. They tend to treat fanon as canon and will caption pics with not always truthful statements.
A much more reliable font of info is Lexicanum40k. They at least list the sources for their articles.

It seems fanart to me, too. In addition, it reminds me of a photo of a squad entry for one of the last two editions of GD (don't remember which year nor what country), of a DA squad with scibor lion's_head_sculpted shoulder pads (which rendered the squad technically illegal for a competition like GD, among other things) Anyhow, I think not stops you from taking a veteran (or command) squad and calling it "lion guard"
