I agree 100%. Screw those guys who don't live near a game store and now have to pay full price to have items shipped straight from GW AND pay the trumped up shipping charges that GW also charges. Screw Brazil as well. They aren't even worth considering since GW doesn't even have a local store and they have few Brick and mortar stores there. They can just jump on the GW UK shipping bandwagon as well.

And thank goodness for eliminating bitz, I am sure everyone was sick and tired of being able to get just a few pieces of kit to finish a conversion. Everyone knows they will be better off buying the whole package and enlarging their bitz box OR better yet, those idiots that convert models should get with the program and understand that GW models are to be built and painted a specific way that GW has told you. That way is conveniently located on the box.

That said, I totally support my local stores, but I am not foolish enough to not see that a great many people and businesses are getting bent over by this idiocy. The online stores are not Hobby killers. They supported a great many "Hobbyists". By this logic, the internet itself is to blame for killing your hobby, so blame Al Gore as the "hobby killer". (That was a joke for those who aren't aware of it) The internet has given this hobby many great things. This website is one of them. We both have a place to come and complain about the hobby. Porn is another. That is what Al Gore invented the internet for, I believe. (That was only half a joke, you decide which half.)

The Orks are the pinnacle of creation. For them, the great struggle is won. They have evolved a society which knows no stress or angst. Who are we to judge them? We Eldar who have failed, or the Humans, on the road to ruin in their turn? And why? Because we sought answers to questions that an Ork wouldn't even bother to ask! We see a culture that is strong and despise it as crude.

Not like most of those online stores were run by B&M stores that are likely going to have it tougher for a bit now or anything.

Then they should have known better than to sell at a teeny tiny margin and self defeating themselves.

Also true. I know that one of my local stores has an online presence and has shipped to South America and Canada on several occasions. This new crap policy is actually going to hurt B & M stores as well. If you aren't a GW retail store then, chances are, you are getting partially screwed by this new deal.

I can't imagine there are too many places that don't have a local store within even 100 miles that they can't contact for phone orders.

But I wonder if they made any profit on this or was it something they had to do, a risk of having an online presence. Shipping abroad without a special deal with a shipping company (FedEx etc) is largely prohibitive, and if your only selling at a 10% profit margin, shipping boxes is going to cost you.

Yeah, cause Northern Europe and South America can get fethed right?
And everyone in the middle east is just a terrorist loving fundie, so don't worry about them either.

There are already threads in place to discuss GW's new terms of service.

No need to create one dripping with sarcasm from the get-go (as that will always result in a quick flame war anyway).

Locking now.
