GW's website isn't very clear on what wargear options are included in the box and they only show a single photo. anyone have a list of parts or, even better, a photo of the sprue?

cheers

I think its just what is on the picture, but is fully compatible with the plastics weps from the DE plastics.

it comes with the option of complaining to GW for three months and repeatedly sending it back till you end up with a piece of resin that resembles what's shown on the package, or trying to approximate what the model would look like if it wasn't insipred by swiss cheese by filling the holes with GS.

Finecast models never come with optional parts. It is all wysiwyg. (It would be nice to be wrong here but i doubt it ... )

not entirely true (though probably the common case). for example: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod1160028a. the termie librarian comes with 3 different options for the left hand (storm bolter, plasma pistol and open hand, iirc).

They're getting better, but that's like saying my '66 Cadi gets better gas mileage when I don't have my trunk full of dead bodies.

CSM raptors: special weapons: flamer, plasma gun and melta gun. So, no. They do come with options, though usually, the one-off monoposes don't.

CSM raptors aren't finecast (and thank the gods for that, because I'm building 3 boxes of them right now). they are, however, VERY good plastic sculpts. on par with the quality of the DV models. if only all the plastics were so good... (and there was no finecast)

Do you mean those finecast raptors that once where metal and only had a short lifespan because the plastic kit replaced them? Because i can't think of any other finecast raptors.

Technically true - they come with exactly the parts the metal versions did, if they've been converted across.

I can't remember how the whip arm was attached, but i'm sure it was a small sprue strip with the engine (badly cast) cowling and chains etc - this was the metal DE beastmaster though.

perhaps I'll get lucky and GW will go back to plastics by the time I start getting serious about collecting dark eldar next year

Cust service is good though. I got a relacement grotesque with little fuss because one was missing a head. I may or may not have stuck an extra Talos head on the first one...

Edit - the biggest issue with being compatible with plastics is sometimes the arm that holds the weapons are crossed. Not sure if its the case with the beast master but for instance, I assembled a succubus last week, and wanted to give her a splinter pistol (because the codex says splinter pistol and makes no mention of that lance thing the model has)
All the wych arms with pistols are the right arm though, it was the left arm I wanted to replace. I had to cut the top part of a pistol off and replace a knife blade with it.
