The OSL looks good. Could perhaps use a bit more colour, but otherwise a really cool and solid paint job!

That's nice! What kind of sponges did you use? I've got a mess of tanks to get around to one of these days.

Great work! Could you please explain how you painted it with the sponges? I've never used sponges to paint tanks, but it seems to work well!

Nice weathering...the plasma OSL is a real nice touch taht brings the tank into the 41st millenium rather than looking like some ancient tank from our time ....nice work

Thanks for the positive feedback. Painting with sponges is really easy, I use the foam from army cases. I do all exhausts, flamer scorches and blood splats with sponges/foam.

All I've done with this one is give it an undercoat of black and then dipped a piece of sponge/foam in my normal paint and dabbed it on where I want the colour.

Repeat with the washes you want to use, in this case I used sepia and then black all over.

I find it stops brush streaks in the paint and the wash and gives a slightly uneven and varied coverage that you'd expect from a battle worn tank. And it means you don't have to be very precise for most of the painting which is perfect for me.

The only thing to watch out for is small gaps etc but either an old brush or tear a small piece of foam, problem solved.

Once the washes are on it was a case of basically drybrushing using a sponge/foam. A little dab of silver on a couple of the edges, some granite on a couple of edges and a couple of scorch marks with black and job done.

Does leave a few of your fingers covered in paint and wash but small price to pay as this went from black undercoat to finished in one afternoon.

Only another 7 tanks and a vendetta left to do. Looking forward to finally getting some paint on my vendetta.

Ahh also, the moldline on the plasma coils really bothers me! Get them off!

You could add some extra littles cables with GS to cover the mould line, and paint them without damaging the OSL?

I like the weathered look, and overall a great paintjob, the OSL has a really nice effect to it, but I have to say that it's a little "Exaggerated" the light would not bleed over the hard edges that much, those edges would create "Shadows" and the light would travel outward rather than across the surface of the gun.
