Not really painting nor modelling (yet) but still.
After seeing the Riptide and not particular likeing it, I decided to design my own version of the suit.

If I like the rules I'm planning to scratch build this.

Cnc welcome.

Damn, nice! If you can make the model match it bravo in advance.

Really nice concept and a good representation of the tau style. I like those vents on him.
But to be fair those on the top despite looking very good are probably not very "realisticly" positioned as the head sits directly in front of them. You might want to leave a fitting gap in them behind the head.

Looks like you could tinker with the riptide and make it look like that, I like both though.

you know people like Tau conversions when you have plans before the model even comes out.

Looks like a good idea though.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

Damn good looking concept there. With the added bonus of straight lines. I can do anything but those, even with a ruler.. Jeffery Brown's work has gotten to me. You should probably give it smaller pauldrons though. It looks more like a Tau rendition of a Space Marine. I can see some stabilizers being added to the back of the feet as well. I know most battlesuits have weird feet, but think of the Broadside. It's feet have clamps to set it into the ground. If this thing were to go into battle, it'd go flying from a lascannon shot right now. In fact, firing its own Ion Cannon might make it tip over.

Thank you very much for the great feedback!

I've actually been motivated to draw another, little bit finer version of the suit.
I also tried to incorporate some of your suggestions.
(not to myself: buy a flatbed scanner.)

Still awesome, but I still think it needs stabilizers.

Also, do you use a ruler, are you just really good at drawing straight lines, or is it just the picture making it SEEM like the lines are straight but in reality they're not?

hehe
No I'm not useing a ruler.
But I guess they are pretty straight, yes

Yea, I will play arround with the feed when I actually get to modelling it.
I'm not entierly happy with them myself atm.

It's because they're too stealthsuit and not battlesuit. Stealthsuit feet are like hooves, while battlesuit feet are like bird claws. It's easier to make the hooves though, so I can see why. You could try and elongate them so they look stable, but that's IMO.

EDIT: Yeah, with THAT pricetag, I'd scratchbuild. GW just released them for pre-order, and the prices are in-foppin'-sane.

I know right?^^

You are actually right that the feet look "stealth suitish".
However that's because stealth suits where designed by Roberto Cirillo, and that's sort of his style. ; )
But as I said, they will get a rework when I actually get to modelling it.
