Local club is reviving Fantasy and I'm bringing the little green lads out. Have not played in about a year, been on a 40k kick, so comments/criticism appreciated.

Goblin Warboss (General) -Fencers Blades -Glittering Scales -Opal Amulet -Potion of Strength

Goblin Warboss -Wizarding Hat

Goblin Warboss -Gigantic Spider -light armor/shield -Dragonhelm -Gold Sigil Sword -Luckstone -Mask of EEE!

Goblin Big Boss -BSB -Armor of Silvered Steel -great weapon

Goblin Big Boss -great weapon, light armor -Ruby Ring of Ruin

Night Goblin Shaman -lvl 2 -Dispel Scroll

Night Goblin Shaman -lvl 2 -Channeling Staff

6 Spider Riders -short bows, musician

6 Spider Riders -short bows, musician

42 Goblins (bus) -shields, light armor -full command -3 Skulkers

42 Goblins (bus) -shields, light armor -full command -3 Skulkers

20 Goblins -Short bows

Wolf Chariot

Wolf Chariot

9 Trolls

Aracnarock Spider

Doom Diver

Doom Diver

Rock Lobba

Alternatively I could:

Drop the Aracknarock Drop Bosses in mobs

Add shields to the 20 Gobbo Unit. Add another 20 Gobbo w/shield and bow Add two Pump Wagons w/ Spikey Rollas Add Rock Lobba

More chaff, more lads, more artillery Less monster.

Thoughts? Been out of fantasy for a while now so your suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I like the wizarding hat on your shaman its random but its a little bit diverse keep him next to your bsb and you should be fine, I don't really like your core of all goblins though with a lower initiative no nets and just being weaker in general than night goblins also your skulkers are the only good thing and any elf player will kill them in the first round I'd go with night goblins and load up on fanatics. Your artillery is whats going to win you the game the Doom Divers are probably the best artillery in the game with the ability to almost never miss a target I would take 3 doom divers and 3 spear chukkas. also if you can fit it somewhere on one of your heroes try getting a feedback scroll enemy wizards are your main concern just wait until one tries to dwellers you then feedback scroll him.

Wizarding Hat is on a warboss, not a shaman.
The real survivability of the core goblin unit is wound allocation. Since the unit is only five wide and Skulkers are treated like characters for wound purposes, in the first turn of combat the opponent can't attack my rank and file Gobbos.

I think I will end up dropping the monster and picking up the extra units/extra drops.

Unless you have an uber-spider model you love to put on the table and skitter around for a few turns (with the new DoC book there are even more cannons on the table), I'd vote for more gobs, more shooting, more pumping. Partially because pump wagons are aces

All told though I love the list, oozing character - especially the characters, fun builds all around. Does the gigantic spider rider go with the trolls? Trying to figure out the 9 Troll deal ...

The trolls are my anvil essentially. I contemplated using 8 4x2 but that put too much distance between my goblin blocks who sandwich the trolls. I am running my general in one and my BSB in the other so I need to make sure they are not only within 12 of the trolls but each other as well. I instead decided to go 3x3. Still gets 6 in combat while reducing the frontage and allowing me to take some wounds without losing attacks.

Spider warboss is machine hunter/chaff killer and with the Dragonhelm can tie up any unit with the always popular flaming banner.

what lore is the wizarding hat taking?

I love mangler squigs. If Im not taking 2 arachnoroks, then I makes sure I've got a mangler. They make sure that all my other stuff stays alive first urn or two.

I have several beutifully converted pump wagons and even with the sails, I've never got a charge off (4D6 dice) so I've always been a bit wary of them.

If I remember correctly the lore of the wizarding hat is randomly selected.

As much as I like the huge spider, you have a more pressing matters.
Add 4 more chariots (2 units of 3 or 3 units of 2)
With leftover points, add 2 more goblin big bosses with great weapons. I found I needed 2 big bosses to have enough punch in melee.

Wizarding hat is made for goblin warbosses. While not totally correct, we house rule the spell generation. Shuffle the spell cards and draw 2.

Do I need more than 6 trolls or will that be sufficient? That would free up all the points I need and allow me to keep the spider.

Statistically goblins would probably be better than arachnarok, but what do statistics know about warhammer? I would take the monster option, an arachnaroks stats will terrify even a K'Daii destroyer or a coven throne and the model itself will put your opponent under stress as he will really wont want it in his lines. I would take arachnarok just for the pyscological benefits.

Coven throne? Mine dreams of fighting Ld6 goblin armies.

It will terrify, not destroy . Covens are just beautiful against skaven slaves.
