I'm taking out a $25,000 loan soon, mostly to pay for college. My roommate asked me what I was going to do with the remainder, and added "Don't spend it on warhammer guys"
Which got me thinking, how much could I get with that much money? What would you buy? How kick A** of an army could you make?

That's a fun question. Instead of spending it all on models, I'd probably spend a quarter of the money on models and the rest on getting a top notch professional paint job.

If I was given a gaming budget that large, I'd spend a good portion of it on a gaming room for my house, where there are lots of different gaming tables available, each one having a separate set up, as designed by an employed professional board designer (if such people exist).

I would get a full Space Marine chapter (I was gonna say 1:1 ratio Imperial Guard regiment from my fluff, but that would be a bit over budget haha), then spend the rest getting the best paint job money can buy for every single model

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Hell, I'd get a pair of warlords from TheTitanManufactorium, 5 reavers, 10 warhounds, 20 baneblades and blow the rest on Marines/ Ig and ask my buddies who wants to play 28mm Epic: Armageddon just for s and giggles. Or buy a lifesized marbo with demopack throwing action!

I would have to say make a game room. The room would be already built (the walls and such). Put 3 or 4 wargame tables in there with terrain. Some other smaller tables for any other game anyone wants to play. Of course several couches and TVs for video games. I realize this would be a large room, but that's ok. Then with the last 10k or so I would buy 3 or so armies of about 3000-4000 points each.

instant sig right there. Automatically Appended Next Post: But in all seriousness:
Id buy an outdoor shed (round 1,000 sq ft) with AC/insulation with a set of tables, WiFi, 60" HD LCD TV, Ps 3, hookup for the computer, get some artists to paint it up like a Space Marine chapel, shelving units along the sides with clear plexiglass to showcase models, and blow the rest on one of the armies I don't currently have.

Let's see $25K? New car. If I was only allowed to spend it on Warhammer items, I would buy 25,000 worth of models.
Then return them. I want a new car, then I would buy a Kriss Super-V with the leftover. Then maybe some Space Warriors if Puppetswar puts them back up.
In all seriousness, though, if I was ever given 25 thousand dollars, I would stick it all in the bank. probably 12 in savings, 10 in a 3 year CD, and the rest is spending money, AKA paying-off-school money.

You could field... a thousand points of Death Korps of Krieg?
25,000 is hell a lot of money in terms of miniatures. I don't see why people think this is an expensive hobby... you know what an expensive hobby is? Golf.
$25,000 covers a year of greens fees. Most gamers will never spend $25,000 in their lifetimes on wargaming.
It would probably go to a dedicated gaming room, with push-button sound effects, dice throwing areas, custom built modular scenery and spotlighted tables:
Actually I could probably do this for less than 25,000... hmm.
One table for BFG, one table for Inquisitor/Necromunda, one table for Epic, two for 40k and a space hulk interior.

If you live in new zealand DKoK is actually cheaper than a new plastic cadian army. I would probably make a whole armored regiment, all FW tanks (to save money) and then get them painted.

I'd probably find someone who does cheap, tabletop quality paint jobs, and try to pick up as many armies as I could. Not an extensive one for each faction, but it would be fun to be able to field an army from almost any codex. (I still wouldn't play Tyranids though.)

Only on models? Tricky... A very lavish games room, an then probably I'd just buy and have pro painted the Horus Heresy. That's be about 6 Apocalypse sized boards, with loaded and spare terrain, and 18 ~5000 point armies, one per legion. 15k points of Imperial Army/Titans, and a siege of Terra board. Then, I'd take 10 Tervigons to a Dual force Org tournament. And with all the extra money, maybe I'd buy the Badab war too.
Seriously, 25k is too much to spend ever. Now if it was 1k this would be a bette thread..

So, yeah I just made a shopping list on GW's site of things to add to my three 40k armies - these are things I could easily see adding in the next 3 years.
That list is $12,465.25.
Are there a few things on that list I will probably never end up buying? Yes.
Does this shipping list include any of the WH Fantasy stuff or terrain that I would pick up if I had a huge budget to immediately drop on stuff? Nope.
Does this figure include any specialist games stuff? Not a chance.
Could I spend that $25,000 pretty easily on models? Oh yes.
