So, Inquisitor Marines. I'm not doing the decals because printing my own or buying the 1/2 of the Vraks decal set would be a huge waste of money. Instead I'm opting for etched brass and GK shoulders.

In keeping with the Inquisitorial nature, I'm using 90% Grey Knights parts as they fit aesthetically with what I want. I love the GK helmets and armor.

A few notes for the fluff nuts out there:
I'm very much aware of the GK chapter symbol being on all the armor. I'm fine with it, as it isn't as distinguishable as other chapter symbols and the drastic color scheme difference is enough of a departure to identify them as non GK marines.

Also, the biggest reasoning behind using the GK Termie heads for regular marines is a matter of price. They are less than 1/2 the price of using the Knight heads, and there is a larger variety of them.

Design notes: No skin. Every model in the army is fully armored. All tactical marines will be rocking Umbra Ferrox bolters, GK flamers, and Heresy heavy weapons.

From a gaming perspective, I decided to run Vulkan as the HQ due to his rules and buffs. WYSIWYG nazis may be turned off by my kitbash not having a cloak, and they can just go ahead and avoid games with me if it's really going to ruin their day.
I did get the important elements right though: Spear, arm mounted heavy flamer, power armor. All of the pieces are fairly easy to identify. Under the shield on the flamer is where the fuel can sits.

Here is my sergeant for my first of 2 tactical squads.

My MkIII Iron Armor marines will be used as Sternguard Veterans. I have another 5 waiting for assembly. For these the gold used is Vallejo Liquid Gold(regular gold)

Here is the sergeant to the second unit of tactical marines. This is close to the finished paint scheme(eyes look better in person)

Here we have my Assault Terminators. Heads and shields will be done later along with the missing shoulder pads. The gold here is again Vallejo Liquid Gold and the silver parts are Liquid Silver.

Last up are the Heavy Weapons marine and the flamer marine. Nothing special about the painting, just gives an idea of the overall look. The heavy weapon marine is magnetized to swap out any of the Heresy heavy weapons.

Comments are always welcome. Also in the works are the first of 2 rhinos and a Storm Talon that has been modded to look more like a plane than a fruit fly.

A few new pics of my first full Assault Terminator. Still needs a few highlights and details as well as basing.

Update, tonight we have my MkIII Sternguard Veterans with Combi-Meltas. Just need to hard line some armor, finish the backpacks and drybrush and edge the bases.

The red isn't blended as well as the lighting makes it seem sadly. I won't be building a light box until my move to Texas next year as I don't have room for one right now.

99% done with the Sternguard tonight, just a few touch ups to do and a missed banner on a backpack. Also have my termies fully assembled, just have touch ups and basing left on them.

Also have my Counts as Vulkan HQ kitbash base coated and ready for a black wash then highlighting. Hoping to have everything finished up for Saturdays Armies on Parades event at my local GW. Display board is a simple basecoat, wash, drybrush on a Realm of Battle tile, so that I can crank out at the last minute.

Looking good so far any way you could bulk out your Vulkan count as? He just looks a little 'understated', maybe he just needs a larger fancy base?

When I first saw the original model I figured he would be on a 40mm, but sure as smurfs are blue, he's on a 25mm. I'll probably add a skull or something on his base to make him stand out a bit more. He'll also be using the Sevrin Loth backpack which will make him stand out a bit more.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Got most of the work on Vulkan done tonight. Just some edge highlights, minor details and basing left on him and the termies. Then it'll be on to the display board.

Been months since I've updated. Still need to take pics of my Terminators(which are sadly shelved this edition). At any rate, here is my finished Vulkan stand in.
