Hello everyone

Been around this forum for a long time now but finally decided to register and post something. I am just getting into Flames of War and having played a few games using my friends armies i am getting around to collecting my own force. For this i knew i wanted a 1500pt late war germans from which i finally settled on Kampfgruppe Peiper list from the devils charge book. As i dont want to waste money i am planning my whole force out first so i came up with this:

Compulsory SS-Kampfgruppe Peiper HQ - 1x CIC Panzer IV J, 1x 2iC Panzer IV J (150 pts)

Compulsory SS-Panzer Platoon - 1x Command Panzer IV J, 2x Panzer IV J (225 pts)

SS-Panzer Platoon - 1x Command Panther G, 2x Panther G (490 pts)

Gepanzerte SS-Panzergrenadier Platoon - 1x Command MG, 6x MG, 4x Sd Kfz 251/1 (200 pts)
- Command Upgrade - 1x Upgrade Command MG to Command Panzerfaust SMG (10 pts)

SS-Panzer Anti-Aircraft Gun Platoon - 1x Command Mobelw?gen (3.7cm), 1x Mobelw?gen (3.7cm) (90 pts)

SS-Panzerpionier Platoon - 1x Command Pioneer MG, 1x Sd Kfz 251/7D, 4x Pioneer MG, 2x Sd Kfz 251/7D (175 pts)
- Command Upgrade - 1x Upgrade Command Pioneer MG to Command Pioneer Panzerfaust SMG (10 pts)
- Transport - 2x Sd Kfz 251/7D (20 pts)

SS-Panzerspah Platoon - 1x Command Sd Kfz 234/2 Puma, 2x Sd Kfz 234/2 Puma (130 pts)


1500 Points, 6 Platoons

Its supposed to be a well rounded list that can handle a huge variety of situations, as i dont yet have a lot of experience with Flames of war i was hoping you may be able to offer constructive criticism on how to improve the list

The list has a lot of balance to it which is good to begin with.

I don't have my copy of devils charge around, but I would suggest possibly dropping the pioneers (you can get away with one one infantry platoon) and maybe add in 2 more panzer 4's and some cheap neblewerfers...

The other nice bit about FoW is how you can have the same models in a different list with different ratings and have a different army!

I only say this as veteran armies are more forgiving to learn than trained, and if you use the 'panzers to the Meuse' PDF you could do a similar but different list. - have a play

I am considering replacing the panthers with more Panzer IV's so i can upgrade my AA to an Ostwind. That will then give me 250pts to play around with

The advantage the list has with PZ4's is the spearhead move at the start, but you really need big platoons of pz4's 4 or 5 ideally

I would drop the pioneers and get something else probably in favor of arty or the heavy mortar add the Stuka nice surprise for your enemy..Maybe a commando group for the heck of it.
I use pioneers but mainly For the Stuka but that is because i play SS iv panzer corps for Grey wolf.I am a big fan of the Stuka,it has almost always done me rite.
