Well there is a thread that talks about the "worst kind of player" that kinda went off telling stories about their bad experiences...
So how about a thread where we tell stories about the WORST or BEST gaming moments in our 40k time?

I personally is quite new to 40k, so what i have is some minor stories.
But, the worst story i have is when i was in the middle of painting and just watching a game, a bomb went off a block away, for those unknown to this, it was the Oslo bombing in norway in 2011, and the games workshop store is on the other side of the block ( basically, go out the door, take a right, and another right and you see the creater )

However, the working guy in the store shook off the initial shock faster than anyone else of us and told everyone in the store to get the feth out in case the building would collapse on itself, with smoke and glass everywhere in the street, this guy took the responsibility of the kids that were painting there, and gathered whatever he could find of medical supplies for whomever got hurt.

Explosions, awesome on the table, not so much elsewhere. Bad pun? At least we had a good cover save.

The funniest thing ever to happen in a game was when I was back in school; I had a Tau Shas'O battlesuit commander worth about 200 points sitting in 4+ cover.

Got insta-killed by a pulse laser in the first Eldar opponent's turn.

Just lolled.

My new favorite is my daemon opponent getting tabled via punishment for taking 2hours just to set up the game (first ever game with new codex but still funny as heck)

Worst story was not really mine but watched my friends 2 storm ravens get tipped off the table and broken into its component pieces.

old favorite, 1 shot the monolith turn 1. during 5th ed.

edit: there is no way i could ever beat a bombing story.

And yet another thread is hijacked for Unit to ask for the same advice, receive the same answers and make the same excuses.

Oh my god I'm becoming martel.

Had an Apoc game a while back, and one of my opponents had bunched his entire army of about 1000 points of Necrons all in a cluster around his Lord to gain the advantage of his ResOrb (this was back when the Orb affected every friendly unit within 12"). First turn, I fire my Reaver's Vortex Missile and wipe out every single unit he had with this single rocket. Maybe it was a bit of a dick move, wiping his whole army out on Turn 1 but I suppose that's what Apocalypse is about.

Well, bunching is deadly!

I was playing an APOC game against my Eldar playing friend. The story was that the Eldar were defending against a WAAAGH! To emphasize the desperate nature of the fight, I was allowed a 1000 pt extra over my opponent. I was certain I had the game in the bag. His most expensive pt unit was the Seer Counsel. Throughout the game, he rolled quite consistently. At one point, in frustration, he picked the die up again to see if he could avoid rolling s. With that one die, he rolled about a dozen times in a row. I was ROFL, he was incredulous. Even with all that going for me, I ended up losing. I did manage to hit his Seer Counsel pretty hard. Deff Rolla, followed by a full Nob Squad with Ghazzy (5th Ed wound allocation shenanigans abound). I think a boyz squad, heavily whittled down and my Biker Nobs got in there as well. He had to pull in support from other units to help the Counsel in the fight. He succeeded in surviving it, but Eldrad was the only one standing, with just 1 wound. It was an epic fight.

Playing a 2000pt game against my friend, he spammed like 3 conversion beams, camping the guys in the back corner on a hill and took out my Chaos Lord and my LR turn one.

Funniest thing that's happened, well...that I've caused to happen was when i was visiting my LGS to pick up some paint and brows the selection and some of the other guys sitting there are talking about Princess Bride and i start talking to them and one of the guys got so animated he started to wave his paintbrush around saying he was Inigo Montoya and proceeded to smack his model sending it flying halfway across the store and breaking it beyond repair, oops...

Dude that's insane...glad to hear the kids were alright though I couldn't imagine going through something like that!

My personal WORST gaming moment would be back in the day with my Alaitoc craftworld with the disruption table (man I miss that)

I was playing a Monstrous Creature heavy Tyranid army but it wasn't bothering me because frankly..Pathfinders and Rangers!...so it was a league game and a win would've jumped me into first place
came down to the last turn with my last squad of 5 Pathfinders against a Carnifex with one wound left...all I need are 2+ to hit...4+ for "rending" and 4+ to wound..I had it in the bag and with a confident smile I took the dice
and then it happened....1...1...1..1..1.....me...my opponent and the GW manager just had blank stares...and so it was written in the book of grudges about a bunch of Drunk pathfinders..who had to go home

2 best gaming moments
My first moment was another squad of 5 Pathfinders being charged by a squad of Chaos Terminators..only to send them packing after killing 2 of them with no losses of their own..they were deemed the Pathfinder berzerkers after that

The other moment(s) would be I used to run Sentinel Powerlifters in my airfield themed Guard and one of my Group played Khorne ..well those powerlifters never killed anyone in combat...but they exploded they had a habit of taking a few Marines with them! it was great

Looking forward to the opening of 40k: The Musical

List of TV show ideas: Late night with Kharne, Farseer and friends, Sigvald in Space
