Hi all, I can't take the mundane greyness of the Grey Knights anymore and I must go back to Orks, or at least that's what Mork says. Unfortunatley I'm on a tight budget so i've come up with the below list to try and keep the cost down but have as much fun as possible. I could spend more monies but I would rather not for now. Does anyone have any suggestions on my list? Also it's for fun not competition.

I know I'm thin on the scoring units but it's never a problem in my meta. We play standard missions but usually it's enough to go for taking one and denying the others.

If you are worried about money, why get so many kannons? You would be much better served by a battlewagon, which gives you more points for you cash. You could also make an ADL from scratch and save money while providing your lootas with some cover.

I do like your concept of a pseudo 'all-Nob' list. I would normally be worried about only having two scoring units, but if it doesn't come into play often with your local meta, then go for it.

I'll agree with ghastli that if you're trying to conserve money, big guns are not the way to do it. Those buggers are pretty pricey from GW direct. A battlewagon or two would be fun and give your Nob footsloggers some much needed speed/protection. Plus, who doesn't want a deff rolla?!?

I've also found that small units of lootas usually don't do much in the grand scheme of Gork (or Mork). I'd rather run a single unit of 15 in most cases. Good anti-air and you don't have to worry about loosing one model and the unit potentially running away on LD 7. The Big Choppa boyz are also a bit of a concern, lacking cybork bodies or the numbers to withstand inevitable casualties. I might suggest at least buying them a trukk, if not a battlewagon. The TL shootas are also kinda pointless, but that's just my opinion.

Why not take the small nob unit and divy them up to the big nobs? They will make better use of the FNP and banner you already have in the unit. Then save the points on the last nob for elsewhere.

On your nob squads, as they are I'd loose all the 'eavy armour and grab a painboy instead. So much is ap4 and the FNP will be used a lot more often. Oh yeah... twin linked 5+ save...

As far as a budget goes, thats not too cheap.
Cheapest army possible;
2 warbosses as you've got
nobs squad (maybe 15 in it)
lots of slugga boys
deffkoptas

get all of that for spare change on ebay with AOBR still flooding the ork market.
Sluggas arent too hard to convert to shootas if you want.
Kannons also are a relatively easy unit to convert, vineheart did some cool ones (way better than the GW ones)

Thats 1030, so 970 left for you're dakkajets, lootas and kannons. Or more boys...
Another option could be to take only 1 warboss and have a kff mek instead.

Thanks peoples. I really was unsure about the small Nob squad, and I couldn't remerber why 5 man lootas were bad, it's been awhile.

I was looking to save some monies by scratch building the Kannons.

I shuold hopfully be testing this weekend.

I liked the idea of big boyz units, but at £18 for 10 they work out way more expensive (monies) and alot less killy than nobs. Though in the future I would look to get some

you may also want to look into Lobbas. s5 barrage is crazy good with 3 ammo runts.

also, unless im not reading your post correctly, you will be wanting some trukks to get your Nobz to their destination. walking those nobs across the board is a great way to lose all of your scoring units early in the game.
